I recently received a bill from this company claiming that I was late/overdue on payment but received zero notice of billing prior to this point. The bill they're claiming is >$900 and goes back to about this time last year. If I had to guess, they realized they hadn't been billing me and since WA law states that they only have a year to bill, they decided to get on it and start threatening to send me to collections. This is supposed to be a mental health practice, I'm not sure how this sort of behavior is in any way supporting mental health.

Please see the detailed billing log attached to this message. This provides insight into accrued charges, dates when our billing department submitted claims, and when statements were emailed to the client. I have attached copies of these emails as well. To remain environmentally conscious, we do our best to stay paperless until the final statement. Its customary for an insurance company to send out an explanation of benefits to the client for each claim; these would also show the clients financial responsibility.

In communication with our billing department and the clients provider, they established that the client will not be sent to collections. Our billing manager will reach out to the client to discuss this further.

I'd also like to include a copy of an email where the client acknowledges receiving EOB's from her insurance. Each of these shows what the insurance covered and any client responsibility. The client also brings up the point of not receiving any statements after October 2022. We do our part to ensure delivery of these statements and document when statements are sent out. Due to factors out of our control, we can't guarantee that the emails will be seen. Any issues regarding an EOB would have to be dealt with the clients' insurance provider, as we aren't responsible for generating these reports. We acknowledge the hardships that can come with seeking mental health treatment, and we do our best to assist clients as much as possible. We wish that the client had contacted us for an explanation, instead of immediately tarnishing our reputation online, and look forward to resolution as soon as possible.
