As a self-published author, I have worked with Gorham Printers on two books, one of which they also formatted into an eBook. I found each person to be courteous and knowledgable. The cover art they created is engaging, drawing the reader in. They formatted the interior of the book perfectly and professionally. They will continue to be my ************* for future projects! Great people to work with!****************, self-published author

Our press used Gorham Printing for our 10th title, a limited-edition fine collectible. We enjoyed a good working relationship until we received ********* run, when over half of the books arrived defective, containing smeared pages. We sent images to our rep, who emailed us: I see what you mean. This is very strange issue but I do agree it is not up to our quality If you could let us know how many books have this damage when you have a chance, we will get shipping labels ready to send the books back to us so we can replace them asap. There was a range of defective copies, and because we believed that they would want to provide us with all clean copies, we returned all books with defects. However, they ended up refusing to reprint any, saying that no one would notice, that this was very common, and if they reprinted them, the same thing would happen. We have worked with 3 different printers on 9 titles and never received copies of books with smeared pages. They told us that the books were precious only to us, but these books are precious to us because we made a considerable investment in them. We would have been receptive to reprinting a portion of the defective copies, but that was never an option, even for one with a cracked binding. They gave us a 25% refund on a very small number of copies, which we discarded, and a 10% discount on the vast majority of the defective copies. We are still trying to decide if we want to sell those at a discount, but a discounted fine collectible is contrary to our business model. Our experience with this company was unprofessional in the extreme. We are not filing an official complaint because to do so would be to seek a resolution, and if, as Gorham insisted, all of their books would likely have the same defects, it seems pointless. If this is true, it speaks volumes about the quality of product that this company offers. If its not, shame on them for misrepresenting the facts.
