Project background data: On or near 5-31-2022 I hired Kettle Crest Construction (**************) to construct a 30, x 30 shop with a 10, shed roof on either side. On a bid of appprox. $31,000. The final total came to $76,287.89. On Nov 11, 2022 I paid Kettle Crest Const. a FINAL check for garage door openers, final materials and labor to be completed. this included garage door opener installation, personel door lockset and installation, upper siding installation, burning post and beam, corner trim installation, hurricane tie installation, wall anchor bolts and instl., sheetrock ****************************** debris removal in the amount of $8,154.46 (check #****). Over the course of the following 5 months I made several attempts to get him to return to the jobsite to complete these tasks, each time he gave me a date(s) he or his crew would be here. Each time failing to show up or notify me otherwise. I had to contact him. Most of the attempts the calls went unanswered. My voice messages were not returned and my texts were not answered. I even offered to pick up the materials. Over the next 2 months I have completed most of the work myself. Some of this was so that the building was not sitting open to the elements. Other tasks I performed this spring. My wife tried calling him approx. a month ago speculating that he did not know her number and he would take the call. It worked. She got him to release the garage door openers from the building supply store to us. I have yet to install them. She stated that he sounded irritated that she had called him. He told her that he knew that he needed to finish. She knew that he was just stringing us along like the previous 7 months. She informed him that he need not bother and that we did not want him here. I understand that I am likely one of those that have been scammed or ?. At best I want my funds refunded for the materials and labor that was not performed minus the door openers. At least I want to make it so others will not be taken.
