    * Registered daughter on March 22, 2023, for Summer **** (camp dates 8/20-8/26). **** spots fill up quickly so requires registration as early as possible.* On 6/23/23, I e-mailed the camp to discuss our situation. We learned that week, that our daughter's HS volleyball tryouts overlapped the camp dates. She was newly going into HS, so we were unaware of these dates in advance to this. We asked to apply our deposit towards a friend's registration, as we had several friends whose daughters were eager to get a spot in the camp, since the camp was already full. A parent liaison replied on 7/4/23, to let me know that she conversed with the camp director (*********************) and my only option was to switch dates. However, at this point, there was only one camp session left with open spots, and this session conflicted with my daughter's volleyball practice (as it was the week following the tryouts).* On 7/16/23, I sent a letter to the director, requesting in writing, an accommodation, as we had no issues with attending the camp (was an overnight camp) and just needed to pull her out for a couple hours on three (of the six) days. The tryouts were even within close proximity to the camp. And if this wasn't ideal, I asked if they could hold the deposit and apply it to the following year's camps. The deposit was $575, so not insignificant.* No response for weeks. I phoned and left a voicemail a couple weeks later. And followed up again. **************** returns my call and we discuss the situation. At the end of the call, she concluded she didn't want to accommodate. I asked about a refund, or the application of the deposit to a future camp date. She didn't commit but said she would think about it and return my call within a week. No call.* The terms and conditions stated no refund of the deposit if you cancel. In this case, we did not cancel. I stewed on this for a long time and should've filed complain earlier. As we've shared with others, they've felt the camp is wrong.
