Im sober today, no thanks to Northpoint Washington and I sincerely hope that theyve re-evaluated their values and practices to better serve patients since my time there. Ive been to several treatment centers in the state and I warn people against coming here not only because of the underdeveloped and repetitive curriculum, but because it was a hostile environment in which staff escalated conflict and played into immature drama regarding patients. Ive never in my time in treatment had to deal with such unprofessional and frankly childish behavior from those who are meant to be facilitating care. I honestly feel as though Northpoint Washington set back my recovery process, but Im so grateful that so many other treatment centers like Lakeside ***** and ************* exist to help people genuinely heal. I came into Northpoint already feeling so isolated from my addiction and left feeling as though there was no place in recovery for me either. While I had not felt comfortable most of my stay, one particular interaction with a lead staff member left me feeling unsafe. I reported this incident to another member of staff, which did little to assuage my concern. The next day, the staff member who I requested to not have any more contact with, had left a cryptic note on my door leaving me even more confused and afraid. While there were a number of unprofessional interactions I witnessed and partook in with staff members before and after my time there; waking up to that message on my door made it clear I was not welcome or respected there. Although I did not feel solid in my recovery, I knew continuing treatment at Northpoint was no longer an option for me and I left a week early. I share this because it makes me genuinely sad to think of anyone else having the experience I did and thinking thats all recovery has to offer.
