My name is ************************* live in ****** **. Making quilt for my niece queen/ king size. Found Windy ..quilt shop and brought my already cut out pieces and all material needed for making quilt to windy July 12 2024. Explained that these diamonds need to be joined and sew 2 boarders around and included material for backing. Windy agreed queen size would be better and would take material and work on it. 2-3 weeks later I called to get update no work has been done. I was surprised because she did not apprise me of any upcoming delays. I called her sat and told ***** to tell Windy not to work on it I would be up next week to pick up material. windy went ahead and cut smaller diamonds out of my extra material. She did not use any of my bigger diamond I had cut out. She made 2 long rows of smaller diamonds. I myself am a quilter many years hands are arthetic now and this was not quality sewing. I was so surprised she used my material and added some of her own material which was awful which did match my theme. Being honest person I thought I should pay for her work $60.00 charged. I believe she cut up 3 yards of my good **** fabric which cost $11.99/yd Windy did not live up to her bargin and i believe owes me $36+60 for not doing what she agreed to do I'm totally dissatisfied with the work windy did esp her dishonesty she never called me to tell me what her plan was which she said she would. Windys diamonds were almost half size of my diamonds cutout i specified my large diamonds were to be used and windy agreed. . I do hope your organization can help me solve my delimna. I have not contacted Windy on this matter. I'd like u to decide if this needs action and just not a " she said. I said. "************************* ************.

************************* came to our shop with a fabric for a quilt that she stated "that she had started 30 years ago". She wanted someone to finish the quilt top for her. She just brought the fabric and said that the quilt top was supposed to consist of diamonds and that she wanted a queen or king size quilt. There was no actual pattern with the material she provided. At the time that she dropped off the fabric at the shop, she did not at any time inquire on our timelines to complete the quilt top, nor did she inquire about the cost involved with us finishing the quilt top. We took the quilt top and told her that we would be in touch. About a week later, she called the shop and asked what progress had been made to her quilt. At that time, we had not started her project as we had some family obligations. A few days later we started to work on her quilt top and noticed that the pieces of fabric that were cut out in diamond shapes were not all equal in size, some were cut on the bias while others were not, ultimately making some of the pieces not line up with others. In order to make this work, the diamonds had to be cut in half and then sewn together in rows, making diamond shapes. In the fabric she provided, we used what we considered her "background fabric" to highlight the diamond shapes that she wanted. This is the fabric she referred to as her Moda fabric. Once again, she did not provide any specific pattern or instructions other than she wanted a diamond patterned quilt top with her fabric. Once we started sewing the pieces together for her quilt top, we noticed that there was not enough fabric to make a queen/king size quilt top. We continued to analyze the fabric provided and work on a pattern that would work with her fabric. ***** called on the Saturday before she came into the store to say that she would be in on Monday to take a look at our progress. After informing her that we were not open on Mondays, she said that she would be in on Tuesday. At no time did she ask us to stop working on the quilt top. When she arrived on Tuesday, we had completed 2 rows of her quilt top. When she showed them to her, she stated that she was taking all of her fabric home with her. She asked how much she owed, and we stated $60 for the time that was put into the quilt top. We will not be offering a refund as the money she paid was for time that was spend on her quilt top. We are sorry that she was not pleased with the layout, however she did not provide a specific pattern or instructions on how she expected the quilt top to be finished. In the future, we would suggest she provide specifics so that her expectations might be met. We thank her for her business and hope that she finds a pattern and sewer that can complete her envisioned quilt.
