- Wise 'Trip' Records provides all its services at no upfront cost to the music artist that signs with the label. We assume the risks associated with the costs of our services and do not pass on those expenses to the artist at any point. In exchange, we negotiate a royalty rate on sales revenue the artist generates from their published music that is genuinely fair to both parties given this model is much simpler, straightforward, and beneficial for the artist compared to the traditional label-artist relationship. The specifics of distribution and redistribution (e.g. refund) of royalties are clearly established in the legally-binding "signing" document the label enters into with the artist. Forming strongly supportive and caring relationships with musicians is far more important to us than maximizing profit -- we see that priority as critical to helping restore humanity and decency to the music industry, and is ultimately a superior approach to achieving long-term growth.
