My husband was in Avalon for rehab after his hospital release. We have insurance that covers 100 days in a nursing home. He was released on February 14, 2023 and moved to a care facility. The business office person at Avalon kept telling me I owed them money. I kept telling her I had insurance to cover this. One day I went in to see her with the number of my insurance to call if she was having a problem and she looked at me and said "I am not going to do that". I was very stressed at that time and this was not resolved. My husband passed away on September 7, 2023.In May I received an invoice for $10,067.20 from Avalon. I again called my insurance company and they assured me I owed nothing. The agent called Avalon while I was on hold and of course no one was able to answer the phone. She left a message for them to call either her or myself and neither of us have heard anything from them. In June I again received an invoice for the same amount. I called Avalon and had to leave a message and of course no one has responded.I do not know what they are doing but I really don't want them to send this bill to collections and ruin our good credit. Please advise as soon as you can as I am really concerned about this.Thank you so much.
