Precision Tune Auto in **********, ** is intentionally causing damage to customers cars. I took my car into the shop on 9/2/22 for a routine oil change as indicated by the car's factory mileage maintenance message. I picked my car up about two hours later and services were paid for. The front desk clerk had the car pulled around front, returned my credit card, and I signed the receipt. There was no mention of an oil leak, and no mechanic or manager came to the desk to discuss any concerns with me before I paid or left the shop. The first time I drove the car since returning from the auto shop was on Wednesday 9/7. I noticed a burning smell multiple times during running errands about **** miles. I made the decision to take the car back to the shop the next day since it seemed awfully coincidental that there would sudden be an issue after they performed "maintenance" on the vehicle. On Thursday 9/8, the manager explained that he did not find anything wrong with the car however all cars have small oil leaks and that was likely what I was smelling. He explained that they cleaned the spilled oil and it should be fine. When driving the car home, the smell reappeared. On Friday 9/9 I drove the car approximately 30 miles and the smell reappeared. I opened the hood of the car and saw oil splattered all over the left side of the engine bay including the hood. I called the mechanic to explain my findings and he began screaming at me stating that he explained the major oil leak to me previously. This was absolutely never stated. On Saturday 9/10 the car was taken to a ****** dealership. After diagnostics and engine cleaning, it was determined that the oil was "severely overfilled" and that it was pouring out of the system onto the belt which was causing the spray pattern throughout the engine bay. The ****** mechanic determined that the amount that it was overflowed would have had to been done intentionally. I have spent $600 resolving this unnecessary issue.

    Precision Tune Auto Care (PTAC)

    For: *************************
PTAC disputes ******************** accusation as state in her complaint.

***************************** arrived for automotive maintenance service shop on September 2, 2022 at 1:48 PM. She requested an oil change and tires rotation. This is a standard service which includes a vehicle maintenance inspection to determine the current condition of the vehicle engine and other related operating systems. During the visual maintenance inspection (VMI), a major engine oil leak was detected. We documented this on the vehicle work order dated on 09-02-2022. During the customer exit interview, the customer was verbally made aware of a **************** Leak and asked her that we need to perform diagnosis to determine the leak. Customer paid for services rendered and departed. We have her signed invoice copy which states that major oil leak o/a No Guarantee.
******************** returned to PTAC on September 9, 2022 and expressed concerned about a rubber burning odor. We created another work order dated on 09-08-2022 at 8:48AM. Her vehicle was driven into service bays for an inspection of the services provided on 09-02-2022.
A technician was directed to check the vehicle for rubber burning odor. Once again ******************** was informed that her vehicle has a **************** Leak and would require a clean and dye test to determine the source of the oil leak. Once again, ******************** declined the clean and dye service. Rubber burning odor was actually due to the engine oil leak which found its way to exhaust system and exhaust system heat caused the engine oil to burn which produced the odor.
During this visit, she was insisting that it is a rubber burning odor instead of oil burning.  Now, she was trying to blame us that we caused damage to her tires. We brought her inside a bay and showed her the oil leak she had on her vehicle. We can submit video proof if needed. The car arrived with major oil leak/leaks and the pictures that she submitted shows how the car came in service. All the oil was there before we worked on car.
According to her complain, she said that we severely overfill engine oil and she drove more than 30 miles one way trip. If we severely overfilled engine, she would not be able to drive more than 30 miles without causing any damage to the engine. Technically, even 1qt extra oil in the engine can blow the engine.
Later, she went to a dealer and posted picture of dealer note on our website. According to that note, they are also speculating what may have caused it. The dealer did not have to drain oil from engine if it was overfilled and it is very unlikely that the oil came to right level automatically after driving to the dealership. As we mentioned, the major oil leak was already there when she came to our shop on September 2, 2022 and it is indicated on the paperwork as well.
PTAC disputes ******************** accusation as stated within her complaint on file # ****** and kindly decline to refund service rendered fees because the ********* Leak was already detected during her visit on on 09-02-2022. We are submitting all the work order and invoices with this email.

    *********************,
    Manager PTAC **********, **
