FTC submission entered as well. Mecca Dream Records is comprised MAINLY of a Seattle based artist named ***** (***************************) and his wife, also recording artist and defrauder. This entity, artist, and affiliates (Materia Records, Respawned Records, and more) REGULARLY post presales for vinyl records that they do not fulfill and falsely place blame on an unknown/undisclosed manufacturer (Materia Records is involved in backing this artist). Were currently hitting just over 18 FULL MONTHS without fulfillment, consent to keep my money/that I even want these records ordered on 10/7/22, and continue to receive brazenly fake status updates. False claims made of weekly updates from the manufacturer (claiming theyre solely responsible and still placing blame on manufacturing delays related to COVID - this start a few years ago and has been nothing short of CONSISTENT in its occurrence from the record industry - particularly of the Video Game music genre - they take preorders for items that will never be fulfilled and outright steal all money involved in presales - this sum is quite significant considering these sites NEVER STOP taking preorders over this entire 18 month period which will NEVER BE FULFILLED). Attempts to resolve go without response. Refunds havent been issued despite MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS and POINTING OUT I DID NOT GIVE CONSENT FOR THIS - we are well OVER A YEAR of the promised fulfillment date (even when its changed 4x+ times, still almost 12 full months later). This business practice is flat out fraud, nothing short of it and I can submit all supporting documentation to substantiate this claim, in addition to several examples from other consumers and myself and my small business included. Unfortunately Mecca Dreams isnt the only entity following these practices, but by far most well known artist who partakes in these descriptive and illegal practices. This one particular purchase is far from the only example I can share. More photos if needed

    Business Response

    Date: 05/18/2024

We received email requests from the complainant to refund the product in question beginning on February 16, 2024. I then reached out for confirmation of the order information and received it on April 14, 2024, at which time I processed the refund and sent confirmation of the refund transaction. Screenshots of email conversation and the transaction record are attached.

I am rejecting this response because:

I have to essentially harass this company to acknowledge they owed me a refund some 14+ months after payment and failure to fulfill or provide anything resembling an honest/transparent message as to what was truly occurring

This is just one of several businesses doing the same kind of preorder scams and pretending some unknown third-party is responsible for their own negligence.

Yes, I received refund  Again, only after hounding the * out of them and filing a request with both the *TC and BBB. While the return of funds may seem to be evidence of resolving this matter, its far from a resolution to curb this incessant fraud.

Go ahead and close this out. Thanks.
