      I have used this facility two times for routing eye exam. They are making claims that there is a medical condition that would warrant them billing medical insurance prior to billing my VSP. In reading other reviews of this company it seems to be their normal practice but isn't well communicated and other customers are feeling over billed. I tried to resolve this with them directly but they want to say I signed and was also verbally informed of how they bill which I wasn't verbally informed. My impression is that they identify something medical so they can bill medical insurance vs your Vision plan provider. I could see this if I was being treated or for a medical eye condition for my eyes which I am not.

      This patient has been to our practice twice. He was a new patient in 2021 and we inform all of our new patients of our medical first billing as we are a primary eye care facility and we have the patient sign a form in the new patient packet which acknowledges that we will bill medical insurance as the primary position and coordinate to their vision insurance in the case of a medical diagnosis. The patient did sign this and we have a copy in his chart. This patient did receive the same medical diagnosis in ************************************************************************ 2022.

       

      I am happy to provide supporting paperwork if the patient would like us to.
