1 starI needed trim (handle, faucet) installed on a new shower. On 11/20 a plumber arrived, took a look at the shower, and said they would need to order supplies. I put down a $600 deposit on a $1226 estimate and was told it would take 7-10 days for the part to arrive and then they'd be in touch to schedule the install.After hearing nothing for 1 full month, on 12/20 I called customer service. Sr. **** **** became immediately defensive and told me that because "specialty parts" had been ordered it would cost $500 to cancel. He then proceeded to tell several lies:**** repeated twice that the contract said it would take ***** days for parts to arrive. He claimed that "10 to 15 days" was written on the contract. I had a copy of in front of me and could see this was a lie.**** then said the plumber had called me "several times" to update me over the last month that there had been a delay in the parts arriving. I have the plumbers number on the contract and a quick glance at my missed calls, messages, and texts showed this hadn't happened.**** also claimed the plumber had my paperwork "right there". This was contradicted minutes later by the plumber who said he'd lost my number. My phone number is at the very top of the contract.The "specialty piece" that was ordered was a **** Verso head and Align handle which I can buy separately at retail for $368 total and have delivered in 4 days via build.com.10 minutes after arriving for the install a couple weeks later, the plumber said he couldn't proceed because the shower construction hadn't been done properly and he needed an extension piece.Then, without getting any work done at all, they charged me the rest of the $1226 in full and told me they could come back sometime with an extension for another $****** no point did **** or the plumber try to do anything but get more money from me. No attempt to explain the radio silence or delays aside from lies. No attempt to do a good job or make a thing right.Beacon Plumbing & Mechanical Inc

Beacon apologizes if there was some miscommunication. However, that is not an excuse to make false allegations and personal attacks. The manager reached out to this Customer to figure out what was happening. The Customer terminated the call and has not called back.
The original call was very short. The Customer explained the situation and the mgr. I immediately got the technician on the phone. The Customer listened to the mgr. speak with the Tech. The Tech called the Customer before the Mgr. and the Customer hung up. The Mgr. relayed that if there were any additional issues, feel free to call him back. The Customer thanked the Mgr. for his assistance.
There were options the Customer was presented with.
The installation of the shower valve by a different company was incorrect. Beacon Tech suggested he contact that plumber and have them fix it.
Beacons Tech offered to open up the wall and place it correctly.
Beacons Tech suggested the Customer call the other company to pay for and install the extension.
The Customer decided to have ********************** order the part and add the extension.
This was the Customer's choice.
The job was finished, and the Customer signed the contract stating that the job was completed to his satisfaction. What changed between then and now, Beacon cannot explain.
The Customer did not mention that he was going on vacation, and the Tech was also going on vacation. The Customer chose the final install date.

It appears that the Customer is vying for a refund. He is welcome to call back and speak with the Mgr. regarding his request.Review fromB

2 starsDid the job, but would not use again due to billing practices;They treat every step in the work as a new "job" and bill from the bottom up as if it were a entire new project. I ended up paying over 15k for about 10 hours of work that involved them digging up line, cutting a section, clear a clog, running a liner, and then closing everything up. Every part had its own job bill instead of being combined, there is no way the labor, parts, and time equaled that cost in any market. This practice is unethical and bad business. I called the manager ****** who I see answers these reviews and he said that it was correct, that's how they do business, and that it could have been more! The bill was supposed to be put through a review process but they never did it. All the staff was nice and competent enough, but if I had known their billing practices I would have never used them. I guess that's how how they get you when you have a plumbing "emergency".Beacon Plumbing & Mechanical Inc

This representation is not accurate.
This job started out with a drain clearing and a jetting. During this process there was an issue with the line and a spot repair was suggested and the requested. The drain clearing and then the jetting was rolled into the spot repair. A liner was suggested to extend the line of the sewer drain that was accepted and the customer believe the spot repaired work should have been done for free.,
The Sr **** looked into this and reported back to the customer that evening and a review of the pricing was conducted as well.
After this review the Customer chose to continue with the liner.
Beacon does not "GET " customers in an emergency the price was shown and accepted every step of the way and in the end was signed off to the customers satisfaction and the pricing is the same that everyone is charged for the same scope of work.

Response to my review isnt truthful or accurate. They did not get back to me about the review, nor did I ever approve the final price since the review never took place. Their response also intends to mislead the reader by inferring that I claimed that beacon charges people differently based on emergent or routine. I made no such claim. I stated that beacons practice of billing an entirely new job on the same project has the effect of pyramiding their pay and is unethical, a claim I maintain. To the reader; If youre considering using beacon, you only need to read their responses form an opinion. Accountability would have won back some points with me, but that response only lessens it.Review fromJeffrey B

1 star*** BEWARE, GROSSLY OVERCHARGESI have a condo in ******* that my daughter lives in. We had a need to have a toilet reinstalled along with a ************** that needed to be hooked back up. I live in ********** and she was unable to do this work herself. I told her to call a plumber and Id take care of the charges. My daughter had my permission to use my card to pay for the service. She was in a nearby town doing an opening of a new restaurant and was unable to be there and called Beacon to do the work. The tech sent over a docusign which she filled out and provided payment. Afterwards, my daughter sent me a copy of their invoice. It mention the need for some newer parts (hammer arrestors, braided hoses, wax ring and bolts for the toilet. Cost of parts when I priced them out through Lowes was roughly $120. They charged my card (my daughter approved it because she didnt know any better). $2772 for the work. That equates to roughly $2300 in labor for something that should have been fixed in an hour. A very expensive ****** learned for my daughter and myself. This company should be ashamed of themselves. This customer was not our customer. The actual customer was informed of the scope of work and the price before and both were approved in writing before Beacon began any work.

How am I not your customer? I own the condo and it was my credit card that you processed. You should do the right thing and reimburse me for the grossly outrageous amount that your company overcharged. A reasonable amount (still too high) would be $800. You took advantage of a young woman who didnt know better and just signed the estimate. Legally, youre correct, she signed it, morally youre reprehensible.Beacon Plumbing & Mechanical Inc

As the review states someone else called Beacon, someone else signed a contract and someone else offered payment. When there is a signature on the contract that would be the customer.
This is very basic contract information. I am not sure how following a contract makes someone reprehensible.
Doing the right thing is to charge a fair amount, this is the same amount anyone else would be charged and the right thing does not include giving a refund because an unreasonable person 3 states away thinks it is the moral thing to do.

Yet, here I am, still the customer. I believe you took advantage of a young lady in need of work she couldnt do herself and she blindly signed your contract. She knows better now. But to say that the price was fair is ridiculous and that makes your company reprehensible. Better yet, from two states (not three) away, I can recognize immoral behavior. Ive said several times, my daughter signed the agreement, Im not disputing that. I just want to warn others before they have to learn the same ****** we did.Review fromMarni p

1 starI had them come out just for inspection. Advertised ***** inspection. Tech came out stated he could not do anything. Charged my elderly mother ******. And stated he would do work after electrician came out. We only wanted inspection. They accepted check from my 80 year old mother. Electrician came out stated electrical needed to be updated. Quoted ******. My mother 80 years old does not have money to get electrical updated. Took check for ****** did nothing. I made over 10 calls to manager. He was so rude to me. He didn't realize I had people listening while he was cussing at me and calling me inappropriate names. Also he stated he called me ..guess what i have cell phone records no calls. ******** has no calls from Beacon plumbing. I have worked with many companies, this is the worst...Marshawn advertises for you...my 80 year old mom loves the ******** has been fan for 20 years. She wanted to go with Beacon because of Marshawn. Left 10 plus vmails...no call backs...Talked to manager he always had excuse. Last conversation was we cannot get money back, we have a credit now. Credit for what?? my 80 year old mother has no way to do laundry, no money back. They said they were going to get shocked due to old electrical. Ok....why charge her? When will she ever use credit. Manager suggested to use generator or neighbor power... we accommodated had set up for him. Suddenly he said it was not safe. Ok give this lady back her money clearly you cannot help her. Bottom line worst case of elder abuse ever seen.....................My mom went to Beacon because of Marshawn.....Manager does not care. We have no recourse. No calls no Texts.. remember its all easy to get records....If you want a company to rip of old ladies ....Choose Beacon plumbing....they should be ashamed of themselves. This review is not accurate. This person was abusive and swearing. The mgr. explained that she needed to stop, or he would terminate the call. The records of this phone call are well documented. Those records show the mgr. did not call names or use foul language with the customer or her daughter. The contract indicates that a diagnostic was requested and performed at Beacon's proper rate. The number of recommended repairs includes what the Beacon tech found wrong, and he made some recommendations.
The daughter wanted us to run an extension cord from the neighbor's house. Beacon declined this work as it is both improper and unsafe. Calling repeatedly, does not change those facts the same, she was informed of this fact. The Mother had unsafe conditions that were not created by Beacon's. None of those issues has anything to do with the customer's age or why they chose to call **********************. The daughter was abusive and attempted to create a false narrative to ****** sympathy and get free work.Review fromSheryl W

1 starDefinitely not recommending it. We asked them to help install two water filter systems and asked them to get a quote before we decide to start the work. They asked me to pay before starting the work, which was very weird, and insisted that they always do it in that way. Then they found that they can only install one as the other one didnt have an outlet to plug the water system in. They should have informed me during the quote, if they did it I wouldn't approve the quote! The plumber told me he would call their office to charge me back but I still saw my card charged for 2 installation! So I called them to get my charge back, the guy was arrogant and asked me to send him an email to kick off the process. Isnt this their problem? If they didnt charge me before starting the work I didnt need a charge back, plus its their job to do thorough estimate and inform me the 2nd one wouldnt work without outlets. The customer supplied parts. ********************** bid that work per the customer's request.
The scope of work and the price of that work was discussed and approved in advance as shown on the contract with multiple signatures and initials.
The customer bought two units and did not have an electrical outlet to support the 2nd unit, so an option to add that 2nd unit was extended, and the customer decided not to proceed.
The customer called the office and was very combative when she was asked to send an email as required under the terms of the contract. The customer became hostile and refused to follow the contract terms.
Iy is nice that the customer is proud that they live in ****** what that has to do with anything is a little disturbing.
The customers husband called back, and the situation was addressed with no issues.

1 starBeacon plumbing installed a new PRV (Pressure Reducing Valve)BACKWARDS. This caused me to have multiple water issues over the weekend to the point where most of my water fixtures were near unusable. Furthermore, I had to call for support more than FIVE separate occasions, because my appointments to fix the issues kept getting scheduled incorrectly, or seemingly outrightly ignored.It also took THREE separate visits to eventually fix the issue.Beacon Plumbing & Mechanical Inc

There were scheduling issues being the *** was put in on a Friday night.
Our Sr **** spoke with the customer Monday evening and a proper brand new *** was installed correctly and stated the issue had been addressed.
