I received a bill for $915.44 from EvergreenHeath ******************** It does not show up on My Chart as a bill, only the test results. This is the same *anel 4 test I took on October 16th and was billed for $275.00. This is a difference of $640.44. I am self pay so there is no insurance adjustment. This falls under the "No surprises billing" act that was passed in 2022.I have contacted ************ on 2 separate occasions and asked for an explanation and a itemized copy of the bill. I was told there was no information available and I was responsible for payment. The "itemized" was just a copy of the original bill that was sent, with no further explanation of services.I was never told before my med check appointment with Dr. * that I would be taking a *anel 4 test, and if there was going to be a huge cost increase associated with it. I would not have agreed to such a financially abusive price, if I'd been given an informed choice. The only reference I had was the *anel 4 test I took in July of 2023, which was for $275.00.There is no cost estimate information through the patient portal, so there is no transparency, and a level of deception going on. The bill does not show up on the EvergreenHeath patient portal page, only the test results and doctor notes, which is very suspicious. The bill was mailed to me from EvergreenHeath ******************** *********************************

I am writing to formally challenge the unfair denial of my mother-in-laws charity care application. Evergreen Hospital has imposed arbitrary, contradictory requirements, causing undue stress on our ********* mother-in-law, a retired woman living alone in *****, visited us on a tourist **** in 2023 to help care for her newborn grandson. She lives on a modest pension of $950 per month, sufficient for her needs in *****. Unfortunately, she suffered a severe fall and broke her ******** ****************** ********************* staff promptly provided financial aid documents. We applied, confirming she had no U.S. income, and within days, her charity care was approved. Overlakes process was fair and straightforward.Assuming Evergreen Hospital would follow the same standards, we proceeded with her surgery there. Beforehand, we ensured her documentation was prepared and confirmed she met the charity care threshold of $3,500/month for a single-person household. Yet, her application was denied, with Evergreen demanding income documentation from my spouse and me.This requirement is illogical. Providing temporary housing to an injured relative does not make us financially responsible for their medical bills. If a visiting friend suffered an accident, would the hosts income be considered? Of course not. My mother-in-law is financially independent, and her stay with us should not disqualify her from receiving aid.Evergreen advised us to reapply after she returned to *****, claiming she would then qualify. Yet, despite following this guidance, her application was denied again for the same reason, revealing an inconsistent and arbitrary decision-making process.Unlike Overlakes clear and compassionate approach, Evergreen has imposed shifting, unreasonable restrictions. We demand immediate approval of my mother-in-laws charity care based on her actual financial status and a policy review to prevent others from facing similar injustices.

I thought I was going to a doctor's appointment and was charge a hospital service fee. They sent me an email saying this appointment was going to be $50.00. Instead, I got a bill for $50.00 Co pay and an almost $300.00 hospital fee. They did not tell me this was possible, and I felt mislead. They advised it was in the small print. Super Shady. I thought I was good because they verified my insurance. They do not care and looks like this has been happening for a while. They do not care. They could have just added that I need to check this hospital fee with my insurance. Super shady practice

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. At EvergreenHealth, we value the opportunity to investigate the concerns you've raised and to enhance our estimate processes.

We understand that medical billing can be complex, and we want to clarify that all our estimates include language indicating they may not reflect your final bill. We encourage you to continue working with our billing office at ************ for assistance in resolving your concerns. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we are here to help.

This business charges two times for the same service. You will be charged for your visit and again for a "hospital service fee." Unless you are interested in being charged two times I would recommend finding any other sports care facility.
