I had my car towed to ***'s Auto Center on 03/15/2023, it needed a tuneup & possibly a coil pack, I had already bought a new one, new plugs, new battery, new wires, all in the car. I told them that if the repairs were anything over 500 I couldn't afford it. I've been calling *********** keep saying they can't figure out what is wrong with the car. On 04/18/2023 I stopped in there since I hadn't heard anything from them in a while. On 04/19/2023 they called & said my car needed a new computer & that was going to be ******, plus the cost to program it, & install it PLUS ****** for the diagnostics. I told them I couldn't afford that & I'd be in there tomorrow to pay the 371 & I would bring a scrapper with me to just junk the car, about 20 minutes later they called me back & said they'd be happy to "dispose of it" for me, all I had to do was pay what I owed them & bring in the title, I said no, & then the woman gets all nasty & says well okay then that is going to be ****** now because she forgot to add spark plugs & a battery THEY put in. All of which were new & didn't need to be replaced & even if they did I never authorized them to do any of that, they were just supposed to be diagnosing it & then we were supposed to discuss what to do next. I haven't even gotten an estimate, or anything in writing. So now I get to pay all that, plus a tow truck to bring the car home til I can get a mechanic, or afford one. I asked to see the bill & told them I had photos of the spark plugs & the new battery as well as receipts so they took that off & the bill went from 472 to ******. I can't find my coil pack which was in the car. It was apparent that they knew what they were doing because when I started squawking about it the guy would say oh no we didn't fix/repair/replace such & such, then she'd run back to her computer w/her piece of paper & change something else like some weird ************** show. Videos/Photos not included in case they are needed for litigation

well unfortunately a lot of this is valid, it was a bad situation with a brand new office person. we had 2 workorders get crossed up and didnt realize it until they were here looking at the work order. on final review all that was supposed to be on the bill was basic diagnostic time. as far as the nasty part it was likely frustration that came across that way and apologize for that and this whole thing. i will happily return her money, tell me where to send it. we have been in business forever. and have a good reputation and we work hard to maintain it even though every once in a while we have to apologize and move on.

I am rejecting this response because:

When I originally wrote this complaint I didn't realize that my entire car is now molded, the window was broken when it was brought in but no attempt was ever made to cover the window or to atleast inform me that my car was being destroyed, so now there is several inches of water in the side panel and after 3 minutes trying to take video and pictures of the car I spent the rest of my day in bed because of the mold. The battery that is in the car now is definitely not from my car, it appears to be a lawnmower or motorcycle battery, there are 3 different types of plug wires in my car. I can't find any of my extra parts and ****** isn't even going to cover the cost for mold remediation, battery replacement, or anything else that could possibly be wrong with the car at this point. I can't even find a mechanic who will touch it after looking at it to even start to fix it because they see the mold, standing water, crossed wires, unattached wires and just say "Nope" and leave. I am a senior by myself and this car is my way to work, I'm going to have to quit working if I don't have transportation and I don't have someone I can call on, or to help me. I need a running vehicle which is why I brought it you guys in the first place, plus I'm also out 100's for towing.

    Sincerely,

i see this has been filed with the ag office also. i will start by saying i will do whatever is needed to remedy this situation. note that the car arrived without any plastic over the window and was wet inside, we put on plastic to protect it but had to constantly reapply due to the weather/ wind. we do not have inside storage for vehicles waiting for repair. we installed the coil, i have the old one here, we also needed to replace the sparkplugs to do our testing, once they get fuel fouled they cannot recover properly, even when new. the battery was out because we had to install ours while we worked on it so we did not have to test with a charger hooked up, your battery stayed with the vehicle and was reinstalled after diagnosis so im not sure why it looks different , we dont have motorcycle or lawn mower batteries here. we certainly would not have a use for a used battery, all these parts would end up on the work order for tracking but would not stiil be on the bill in the end, it seems like the bill was presented before it was finalized. we have been in business for a long time and have a good reputation, i have always done whatever it takes to make everyone happy . i had already stated that we made mistakes in this instance. the fastest way to get you on the road would be for us to tow the car back in and take care of all your issues at no cost including the computer and detailing to address the mold. we do not buy and sell cars so there should be no reason for you to feel like we were up to something as stated in another forum. let us take care of you . as far as the disposal of the car we only offered to help you get rid of it if that's what you wanted, i have a parking lot full of cars that the customers were to get towed away but are still here so we offered.
