My family spent the 4th of July at Shore Acres. We paid $75/night for a tiny RV spot in the middle of the resort. According to signs posted and their website, we were ensured quiet time would start at 10 and all dogs would be on leashes. Not the case. There were cars rolling in and out at all hours, when supposedly day-use was closed this weekend. Several drunk drivers made us feel unsafe given our location. We felt as though we could be hit by a car at any time. Due to overcrowding, we could not find a place on the beach during our 5 days ********** roaming everywhere, no quiet time, garbage all over. On the 4th, an entire cabin full of teens became so out of control, my family could not sleep. There was no signage to be found with contact info for after-hours help. Given this, we politely asked the teenagers to keep it down. When that failed, my husband approached the cabin where he was verbally assaulted by the belligerent teenagers. One claimed his parents were the owners and he was going to get us kicked out. Sure enough, he called his parents (the owners, who were at a bar) and claimed my husband kicked the door down and used our dog to attack them. This claim was so outrageous, I thought owners would see reason and handle the situation accordingly. I was very wrong. Yes, my husband had our dog with him when he walked up to the cabin for personal safety. Absolutely NO threats were made, our dog DID NOT attack anyone, and the door to the cabin was already open. After being accused of these outlandish things and more verbal assaults from the drunk owners and their friends, my family was told to get the f out and pack up at 12:30 at night on the 4th of July. We did. The owners not only allowed these kids to drink but were defending it. My family came to have a nice vacation. This place is unsafe and not family friendly. The owners have no clue how to run a business and are clueless as to the liability they are responsible for. I do not recommend it to anyone.
