RE: branch of NW Adventure Rentals at *****************************************************************************: repair of water damage to our 2011 *********************** RV.I have attempted, unsuccessfully, to resolve this matter with ****. Initially, store manager *************************** said it would cost $3,000 - $3,500 if he could repair the water damage by removing and replacing the exterior aluminum skin but more like $11,000 if he had to remove the cabinets inside the vehicle. NWAR did not remove any interior cabinets but the final bill was $7,500 plus tax.-Final invoice is not sufficient to explain the work done or invoice amount. Attachments a, b.-Estimate and invoice do not correspond with each other nor with verbal statements made by ******************** during his initial inspection of the vehicle. Final **** appears to be what ******************** felt NWAR should be paid rather than based on labor and materials. Estimate itemizes materials not used (e.g. wheel well trim), and does not itemize work that clearly was done (e.g. 2 pieces of aluminum skin installed vs.1 itemized). -Repair did not stop water entry. Photos 1, 2.- Some of the work was done in a sloppy manner, e.g.: gas filler pipe not secured, wet insulation not removed/replaced (photos 3, 4), poor application of sealants (photos 5, 6, stove vent cover) ...-Evidence calls into question whether other work billed was done at all. E.g. if the exterior plywood had been removed, the old, wet insulation would have fallen out (photos 1, 2). Did NWAR simply stuff the old insulation back into the wall cavities? Did NWAR remove/replace the exterior plywood at all? It does not appear to be new and in any case is wet.NWAR had the vehicle at a time when they said they could do the work plus 3 extra weeks because I was delayed for medical reasons (and notified them). Even so, the work appears to have been done in a rush. E.g. Comments above; NWAR did not have time to order new wheel well trim; sealants were wet when I picked up the vehicle.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 10/17/2022

The complaint involved repair work on a personally owned RV performed by one of NW Adventure Rentals branch offices.  Ideally, I would have liked for the work to have been done correctly and completely the first time, or to have been done over again, starting from the beginning.  Both the business owner, ***********************, and I knew that neither was realistic.   Over the course of two conversation, ****************** indicated that my dissatisfaction mattered to his business, he provided additional information that the branch office had not provided when I contact them, and he offered an adjustment to the final invoice.  While the adjustment does not correct the work, under the circumstances, it was a reasonable resolution for both of us.  I consider the matter to be satisfactorily resolved.

      Sincerely,
