My wife had two successful transactions here previously. For some reason, the third time, they took her $600 and then kicked her out for a bad attitude. No service rendered. They just stole my $600.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/03/2025

The statement is false. His wife had 4 successful transactions. And his wife wasnt dismissed for some reason.

Tattoo client - (wife) came in for her 5th appointment with us, like she had previously done before. However, this time she came in huffy and kind of snippy with me (the tattoo artist and owner of the business). I brushed it off because she is always kind of crass and slightly rude in her delivery, but her hand was visibly shaking because she was so upset.

I showed the client the stencils for the tattoos she wanted to add to her forearm tattoo and she started telling me that she didnt know how much more of this tattoo I can afford, Ive already spent almost $2,000 on this thing and its not even finished.

So I gently reminded her what we discussed in her initial appointment - 1. We are doing a coverup, and coverups take time. There is no way of telling how ink will absorb over an existing tattoo. 2. She wanted to fill the background of her arm with watercolor. That being said, it requires a significant amount of time.

She continued with the snippy remarks, Well I just dont think I can do anymore than the next appointment. I told her it was ok, but I can only do the best I can. At that point she started telling me how to do my job, even though I have almost a decade of experience and do this every day of my life. After letting her know, she didnt need to be rude or talk down to me, she started back tracking. So I asked her what was wrong. At that point she admitted that she was stressed about her personal life and finances. (Which is fine, but she didnt need to take it out on me.)

I tried clearing the air and explaining to her that she was rude to me via text before her 4th appointment, and I moved on, but I wasnt going to take it anymore. While I work in customer service, I let her know that I dont get paid enough to be treated the way she was talking to me. At that point she started apologizing and saying Ive apologized 3 times, what more do you want?.

So I suggested rescheduling that days appointment with no intention to charge her because she was clearly having a bad day. When I told her this, she got upset again and said, Fine! Then just cancel all my appointments. So I reminded her that if I did that, I would need to follow my cancellation policies and charge her for the appointment I didnt get to do because she couldnt differentiate her personal life from this business transaction, and I didnt like the way she was talking to me.

When I let her know that she was responsible for 2.5 hours at $225 an hour, she threw her belongings on my studio seating, and told me, If Im paying you better tattoo me then. I was shocked because she was behaving so childish. So I told her, Unfortunately, at this point, I will not tattoo you because you are rude. Why would you want me to tattoo you anyway when you clearly have an negative attitude with me? A tattoo is permanent! Did you not read the consent form you filled out 4 different times?!

She then said no. I mean yes. So which one was it? Either way, it is not my responsibility to make sure a grown adult understands what they are signing. Any attorney or judge will tell you that if you sign it, you agree to it and the other party has the ability to hold you to the agreement.

At this point, the tattoo client willing inserted her credit card into the terminal, cashed in on her $50 OFF in Loyalty Points and signed for the purchase. In conclusion, the reason this person was charged is because she was taking her personal stress out on me, I refused to take it and decided to implement my cancellation policies. I did not steal or TAKE $600 and kick her out. She was calmly told that she would be better suited with another tattoo artist at a different location, if she could find someone that could work with her.

Her husband then proceeded to harass me via phone calls, voicemail, text messages and social media. No artist, no employee, no business owner needs to accept this treatment from people who can not behave like respectful adults in a place of business. Everything this complaint states is a lie.

I am rejecting this response because:

More lies. This was bait and switch. My wife was left with an incomplete tattoo. The owner never had any intention of completing this tattoo. Why would you charge my wife money when you already said you were not going to tattoo her? Yes, my wife made a mistake by paying. She should have just walked out. But she didn't, and now you have stolen our money. I'd love to see the video footage you claimed you have.
