    On 02/15/23 I visited the *** store to ship a prebuilt computer tower. The tower was packaged inside of its original box with styrofoam securely. I requested the tower to be packaged in another box with bubble wrap. The *** associate responded that it was a waste of packaging to do so in a rude manner. I insisted and paid $254.16 to have the fully functional tower delivered with insurance and a signature provided by the recipient. When the package arrived to the recipients house, it was dropped off upside down and *** did NOT honor the signature service that I paid for. The recipient attempted to turn on the computer and was unable to do so. He took the computer to a repair shop to diagnose what was wrong. The computer repair shop notified him that the *** and motherboard were damaged during shipment and needed to be replaced. Afterwards, I visited the *** store to find out the procedure on filing a claim for the damages. I sent the required evidence and photos to *** and had to follow up multiple times to ensure they had all evidence needed and were filing the claim. Once the claim was filed, the associate informed me that the claim was denied since the computer was shipped fully assembled. The associate who handles insurance claims was the associate who helped ship and pack the tower, and at NO point during the packaging did he mention this policy on shipping computers. At no point during the process of shipping a pre-built computer in the *** store did ANYONE mention having to remove certain components of a computer to ship it securely. I exclaimed multiple times inside the store that I wanted to take every precaution in ensuring the tower was sent safely, and no policies were mentioned to me or visible about shipping prebuilt computers. Not only was information withheld during the shipment process, but the $2500 computer was recklessly shipped and arrived damaged. There is absolutely no reason why the insurance claim should be denied in this instance.
