    Olympic Trailer sold a heavy duty trailer to my 91-year old father-in-law, charging his personal credit card in the amount of $13,609 and delivering the trailer to his driveway where it has sat ever since. My father-in-law is cognitively impaired, has no driver license, and no vehicle to which a ******************** can be attached. Olympic Trailer knew the age of my father-in-law, and they now insist that company policy dictates they will retrieve the trailer but return only approx $7,300. I do not expect a full refund, but the amount offered strikes me as unconscionably low. I believe that Olympic Trailer unreasonably took advantage of an old man.

    Olympic trailer sold a trailer to customer ***** **** on 8/20/2024 and delivered trailer to customer residence.

    The transaction was inquired and completed thru phone calls ,emails and text messages giving us permission to charge his credit card and to deliver the trailer.

    Customer explained to us that he was starting a project with this trailer and had people who worked for him and they would be using the trailer for a project.

    Trailer was delivered to customer at his residence the delivery driver after dropping off the trailer went into house to deliver all paperwork to customer and get signature of receipt of ******************** delivery all licensing paperwork was filled out and signed along with all safety information and warranty information.

    We did not receive any contact from customer or any other party about the ******************** until customer contacted us via phone on 10/30/2024 wanting sell back the trailer that he purchased over 2 months ago.

    We contacted customer with the buy back offer which our company policy is 70% of the purchase price of the trailer or current market value only , this does not include state licensing , state documentation fee, state sales tax , credit card fees or delivery. the trailer was sold for $11499.99 with a 3% charge for paying with credit card of $345.00. We received new pricing from the manufacturer on 10/1/2024 and the retail of that same trailer was lowered by $500.00 so now retail on that trailer is $10999.99 which we have priced on our website currently at that price.

    If you deduct 30% off current price of $10999.99 it will equal $7699.99 and if we have to go pickup trailer at residence the mileage fee would be $300.00 for a grand total of buy back price being $7400.00

    Customer then replied to us that he would try to sell it ourselves.

    This sale was not done any differently than the other 2300 trailer sales that we sell every year.
