A shower pipe burst in my rental property causing a lot of water damage on December 23rd, almost Christmas Eve. The *************************** called H20 Away in **********. They were absolutely excellent, reliable and 100% professional. They were at the house within 30 minutes to pump out the water and evaluate the situation. They began the mitigation process very quickly. They kept in constant contact with me and always responded to my texts and calls quickly. Took the time to help and educate me on the process of how to use my insurance. They had the damaged areas dry and ready for a contractor to come in to begin repairs. My insurance company had already assigned a contractor , otherwise I would have used a contractor that H20 Away recommended . The *************************** and myself were absolutely impressed with H20 Away in **********.

We had a minor bathroom leak that went through our living room ceiling. Their mitigation team did a great job with the demo and drying everything up. However, once the rebuild process started we encountered several issues that were never resolved. After having a back and forth with insurance (they had a hard time getting a hold of the project manager), we got on the schedule for the rebuild to start. ******, one of the owners, never showed to the appointment and I had to call them to ask if they were still coming. They said they didn't realize I lived further out and couldn't make it but also weren't sure why they were coming over. This was 4 months into the project and I had enough, our bathroom and living room were completely destroyed. They insisted on keeping up the plastic tarps for when they came back, well at the 3rd month we finally took them down because we knew they were not going to come back.******, one of the owners, ended up taking over the project and things did not get any better. I tried voicing my concerns multiple times and I felt like I was being gaslighted. The company is riddled with communication issues and no one is interested in completing the projects. Please save yourself some time and effort and find another company.

Hello ****************** - I have read the file notes and see that a lot of the time delay was due to the insurnace carrier approving the estimate.  The said estimate took us a lot of work and negotiation to get a higher settlement amount paid directly to you for your loss.  This takes quite a bit of work on the back end for any insurnace contractor to do.  I see our first visit for the rebuild portion was on 4/3.  That is actually a pretty quick turn around time for an insurnace loss.  I am also seeing that we refunded your deposit once you felt the timeline was linger than you wanted to wait.  We did have a few staffing changes on in the department so the communication was not as great as we normally would do but we did not actually begin any work at your home for the rebuild portion of the file.  I also see that based on our timeline we suggested another rebuild contractor who could get to you quicker as well as voided the $500 estimation charge for work performed in getting you a better and more accurate payment from your carrier which you received then chose not to have us do the work.  I had though we left this on good terms and am more than happy to chat on the phone to figure out any additional resolution you would like even though we didn't actually engage in any physical work at your property.  Most contractors are booked out pretty far these days and then you add in the element of waiting for insurance settlements on a fair scope and it can extend the process even longer.  I hope we can chat and make this right for you as we pride ourselves on doing the right thing.  Thank you.  BBB - please reach out if you need any supporting documentation.

They did initially do the water mitigation but when it came to the reconstruction they left us hanging. My 93 year old mother who walks with a ****** was without a kitchen floor (boards just left to cover a hole from water damage) for 3 months. It was a dangerous situation for her besides the inconvenience of not having a kitchen sink. H2O Away only contacted the insurance company twice, they did not source any materials. After talking with insurance adjuster myself we moved on. The owner of H2O Away stated he would take over the repairs himself but did no better at communication/action then did the original coordinator that was "let go". If you need water mitigation? They did a fine job. Be weary about anything further. I would hope, but am not convinced that they were taking advantage of an elderly person.

Really helped with insurance company communication. Great group to work with.
