Terrible experience. They made a coding error which resulted in our insurance denying a claim. Our insurance told us to call and ask them to rebill it which we did and never heard another word. More than 8 months later we receive a bill in full for over $1500; I checked with my insurance to find that they never rebilled it as instructed. When I emailed to attempt to get it straightened out I received a response from ***** who was an absolute nightmare to deal with. I was told they had appealed the claim and their appeal was denied, and that they would not communicate with my insurance again and it was up to me to straighten it out. I explained that they shouldn't have appealed the claim, they should have rebilled it per the insurance co, I was told, direct quote, "we are experts in our field and the appeal was and is the correct course of action".After requesting several times in the email conversation for the claim to be rebilled and ***** steadfastly refusing to do so, I informed her that I was contacting the finance director at the *** station that provided the transport to ask her to intervene. After confirming with my insurance that rebilling was the only course of action, I instructed ***** to rebill again with the CORRECT codes and that she was not to attempt to collect the debt from me again until she had done so. Only then did ***** finally agree to rebill the claim. Magically my insurance called me the next day and said they received the claim and payment would be issued within 30 days.It should not have taken me going nuclear to get a resolution to this. ***** was told several times how to resolve the issue and just continued to insist to me that she was an expert and that what my insurance was telling me was wrong and completely refusing to correct the issue. This is completely unacceptable. Just because you are an *** billing service and work for the *** station (not the patient) does not give you the right to behave so outrageously.
