On May 14, 2021 my husband and I paid Blueline HVAC $6312.15 to install a Daikin Heat Pump.Due to improper installation, our unit continued to break. In below freezing weather, we would wait days, even weeks for a technician to come out and "fix" the issue, but it was never "fixed". They would refill the refrigerant only to have it completely leak out again. Multiple times I tried to ask for a more experienced technician to come out or to simply get a replacement unit, but they would turn these options down and convince me that the next time they come out they would fix it for good. After our unit stopped working for maybe the 5th or 6th time, I called Blueline only to hear that as of January 23, they are no longer doing business in the state of Washington. I called the boss, ****, and his voicemail said, "We closed out in Washington and fled to free *******." I believe that they are running from many lawsuits and very unhappy customers who they cheated. If we have a warranty with them, and they run away, what can we do? Now I am paying $1200 for a reputable company to fix all the issues they caused and they are finding MANY issues: no caulking or foam at the hole in our wall, a nut missing on a shark bite fitting, melting electrical tape, oil residue on the inside and outside units on every fitting, zero refrigerant, all fittings leaking (first time the reputable company ever saw it that bad). I hope that if Blueline was covered, that their insurance will be able to help us resolve this financial headache to get our home heated again.

I am rejecting this response because:

The loss of freon was caused by a failed part the labor was the result of a failed part.

Therefore it should have all been covered.  If not then you lied when you told us there was a 12 year warranty, the warranty is worthless.  I am guessing if you came to fix the broken faceplate you would also be charging labor.  This is total fraud and I may be also working with the DAs office to get a resolution.

    Sincerely,

12 year warranty is a manufacturer part warranty. Freon is not included in that and neither is labor. Labor is warrantied through our company for one year from installation date. So it is reasonable that freon was charged as that is not a part that is warrantied out by a manufacturer ever. We are always more than willing to come back and take a look and fix any issues that might be there.

We are sorry you feel that way. We are willing to work with you. All of our invoices and contracts show that we cover a 1 year labor warranty and outside of that, the customer is responsible for labor costs. The 12 year warranty is a manufacturer warranty. Those are based on the varying manufacturers and what they offer so we did not lie to you. They cover part replacement but just for the part itself, not the labor. Outside of that one year installation ***** labor is something that is required to be paid by the customer.
