Beginning in July of 2022, I contacted RNS Consulting, a ******************************* for assistance with a slope on my property at **************, ********* **.I shared pictures and a rough sketch of the current state and what I hoped to do to level the steep pitch of the slope. The owner, ****************************, BSv, P.E., reviewed all and we agreed on a cost of $1,945.00 and a contract was signed. I sent a payment via VENMO of $972.50 (50% down) and ******* confirmed receiving the down payment on September 1st. I have never heard back from ******* since.I have tried calling several times and the voice mail box is full. I sent a follow up request for an update on November 3rd and have not had a response. On November 21st I sent a message via his website asking for an update.

******************************* did contact me in July 2022 to review the data she sent me for a new retaining wall on her property. On July 29, 2022 the service agreement was signed, however; the retainer did not arrive until September 1, 2022. I placed her project in my queue, and told her it would be 6 to 8 weeks for her project to work its way up to the front of my queue, and then would take about a week to do the design work. This would have placed the completion date at approximately December 7, 2022. In October I had to have a surgery on my right shoulder. Being right handed, this slowed me down quite a bit. The documents were completed and provided to ******************************* on December 16, 2022. After providing the documents to *******************************, she contacted me to tell me that she thought that the calculations were rushed, and that I never came out to her site to collect my own data. She also said that her neighbor, who was and electrical or mechanical engineer, had told her that we didnt specify the type and size of drain gravel, which is irrelevant. I told her that we dont care what kind or size of gravel she uses as long as the detail is followed to install silt fabric against the wall prior to backfilling with gravel or soil. She contacted me and said that she didnt think that I had down an adequate job in my design. I tried to explain to her that cantilevered concrete retaining walls are not physically sensitive design product. We generally provide a design for the worst case scenario, and provide a cross section of the wall, and that is adequate for any and all jurisdictions. I have been doing this for 23 years, and have never had a planning department refuse my design. I never contracted to teach ******************************* engineering, and being told that I didnt do an adequate job on the project was not a professional opinion or comments from at least a reasonably educated individual. At this point, I offered to return her retainer if she would like, and that I would need her to return the work product. She said that this was acceptable to her and I refunded her retainer of $972.50 that same day. I sent her the refund via Venmo and have a record of the transaction. I have not heard from her since.
