2 months ago I paid ***************************** the owner of In & Out Home Improvement $600 to fix a fence. The primary discussion was to come up with something to keep my dogs from getting out as the old fence was broken down. He installed a cattle gate which first was too small because he did not measure the area correctly. He returned and installed a wider gate. It still did not hold the dogs because they could get through the bar spacing on the gate. He said he would have to come back another time to put something else up over the gate to keep the animals in. He proceeded to make excuses when I would clear a ************* for him to come he wouldn't show up. When he finally did show he decided to use some of my old fence boards i had taken down and screwed them into the metal gate. These boards were not new and were very weak. When the dogs escaped, which I knew they would, he said it wasn't his problem, was very hostile toward me and called me names, used fowl language, then threatened gun violence during his argument. Many weeks later he then tried to claim he would come to make it right. He set a day and time and then wouldnt show and wouldnt respond when i tried to communicate. He proceeded to pretend he wanted to fix the gate and make it right but never showed up and made me feel very unsafe with any communication that wasnt documented in text. When I demanded a refund he refused and lost his temper again. He called my boyfriend threatening him. He used the money from the job I paid him to do before he even did the job and now I still have a broken fence and am out the $600. I want the money back I gave him to do a job he never did properly nor completed.

This job was intending to be done for a friend and the amount paid was the $600 but that was including the materials. During the whole job she was the one to make approval on materials wanted. She picked the gate out and told me to use her existing boards as she didnt have the money to get new boards for the fence. She also approved the job being done as she was satisfied with the work and she knew that she would have to put in fill dirt or something else and she agreed she would do that. Only weeks later after he dogs start destroying the fence did she want me to come back out and fix it. At this point I was dealing with my wife in the hospital, which I have documentation of, so I couldnt come out when she wanted. As far as I knew the fence was completed upon her approval. Gun violence was never used but words were exchanged on both parts. She was my wifes friend and this all started when they had a falling out. She was having her boyfriend contact me threatening me as well so the environment to even go look at the gate was compromised and I no longer felt safe with the situation. She also stated multiple times that because she didnt get what she wanted that she would try to destroy my business, even though this was done as a friend.

This is the lack of communication and follow through this company owner has offered me. Constantly bailing and not showing up. If I do not get a refund from this company as I asked I will file my paperwork I have filled out and ready to file. This was their final opportunity to make it right and they just give more excuses. They need to be exposed as the fraudulent people they are. Also have discovered this business 9r the owner does not even hold a contractors license and is not registered with labor and industries or any other verification sites. Which also means there is no way to verify insurabiloty. Yet he is advertising as licensed bonded and insured. This is not a verifiable ot legitimate company. They are taking peoples money and not completing work. They refuse to show proof of licensing and insurance as well when asked and are refusing to refund us do to personal reasons never expressed until after they fail to follow through.
