    Transaction 2/28/25 $250 deposit for wedding date(booked) and engagement photos. (Not booked)Started trying to contact business 5/6/25 about getting in for our engagement photos soon, was not given any type of date or time frame when she would be getting our engagement photos booked. I said if its a problem for her we are more than willing to find someone else. She refuses that and says we will not get our deposit back, without wanting to help solve the issue. There were no steps taken to get me booked for this service, which was her side of the contract agreement. She has refused to return the deposit for the work she is unable to do, says the travel is too far but never discussed this as being an issue before hand. She knew where I was located before she had ever even taken my money. Since then has blocked all forms of contact and tried to have me sign a cancelation agreement saying I cancelled services so she will not be refunding me, She was less than willing to do my services that we had agreed upon in the contract and did not hold up her end as far as services.

    To whom it regards, 

    I booked ***** for her wedding June 1, 2026. She signed a contract and paid a $250 deposit to secure her date. Her invoice included travels fees for her wedding date to Sedro-******, **********. As a business I offer a complimentary engagement session, when the client told me the location she wished to do photos I did apologize that 10 hours of travel was not feasible. When trying to consider a closer location I was immediately met with back lash, harassment and threats (see images) 

    In a normal situation I can be reasonable and wouldve refunded the client but before we could get to that point I started receiving harassment and threats from her family and friends (see images) 

    I firmly believe this client does not understand how this works or there was a communication misunderstanding. 
    when I offer an engagement session if you book your wedding with me that price is factored into the total, not just the deposit. But in a case where a bride cancels and theyve already received their engagement session Im not completely out money (deposit) 

    this bride verbally stated she does not want me doing her wedding, which she believes means I need to refund her or take her engagement photos. 
    $250 is a deposit, not the price for a standard engagement session. 
    I book a year in advance and turned down other weddings, in result other income. 
    I sent a cancellation contract to the client since she stated she no longer wants me to photograph her wedding and she refused.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    I was charged a separate fee for my engagement photos as you can see in the attached photo. I had been trying to contact this business for two weeks about a session I had already paid for. I was not given any type of confirmation, or plan to do said services I had already paid to do. When I said I had a timeline and asked if I needed to get someone else she insinuated that I was provided a complimentary engagement shoot and to do as I will but she wont refund me for this service she had already charged for but was not willing to do. I was more than willing to travel and meet her half way. I had already said that much sooner into the conversation. There was a lack of effort from the business as far as planning. When I said a deadline there was no helpful action just back to if you go a separate way I will not refund you. There were no services that were done. I offered since she wouldnt send me my deposit back, if she would give me a date and location I would be willing to do the engagement photos and part ways. She refused.
