This was a very bad experience for me. Even though Alpine had the highest bid to fix my leaning fence panels, I chose them because based on ************************* information about how they would repair it with their pole in post technique and most of the reviews I have read, I believed that they would do the best job. The first day **** and another repairman came out they only worked for 1 1/2 hours, including break. **** said that he was sorry that he broke a post and that he did not have the proper equipment to do the repair. The fence is very near to a very large evergreen that should have been obvious that there might be roots involved. Apparently one was a problem. I wish I could include pictures in this review but I will do so in other venues. Seven days later they came back. They dug a long trench, attempted to straighten the leaning panels, and then attached 3 new posts to the out side of the existing posts. I do not see that the post/pole technique was used. Instead, they attached the new posts to the existing posts at various heights, but, most importantly, they cut huge notches in the new posts that, in my view completely undermines their purpose. One was notched to a depth of about 25% after the removal of 75%. The other two were notched significantly as well. The new posts do not come to the top of the old posts and are at various heights which looks terrible. The panels are not in a straight line as was intended but are more bent looking. Again, I wish I could show the pictures. I had an eye injury and it was raining so I could not see the just how bad the outcome was. I gave **** a check for the full amount of the contract and then tipped him and his coworker, as I normally do. When I was able to see the area, I was devastated. The fence looked ugly, I have no confidence that it will hold, they left a large unfilled trench that exposed the tree roots. I am a senior and while it was difficult for me I was able to fill it with bagged soil.
