***** began a bathroom remodel project for me in May. I was told it would take 3 weeks. He said the steam shower company sent him the wrong part and he was waiting on that but would be in touch. That was in July and I haven't heard from him since then. He now ignores my calls and emails. There's a big pile of tiles in my driveway and a hole in my wall.

Regarding the above complaint against set in stone remodeling, I have sent ***** a letter of termination of contract and requested financial compensation in the amount of my last payment to him. Another contractor will be completing the work.

***** texted me once to say he was sorry, but didn't reply to my request for a return payment, since he was in a clear breach of contract and left me stranded for months with no communication. I would not feel comfortable allowing him to do any more work without being confident that he'd complete it.

So I supposes the complaint is still open but the resultion I'm requesting is no longer to have him finish the work, but to compensate me financially.

    Sincerely,
    ***** Snyder

I have requested a refund from Set in Stone for material breach of contract, since he misled me into thinking he was going to return to complete the work, and then he disappeared for several weeks without informing me. I have since hired a new contractor to compete the work. Set in Stone collected money from me under false pretenses and neglected to issue me a refund, even when I told him I'd be pursuing him legally, which I intend to do once my project is complete.
