***** **** from Carpet Liquidators sent me a quote for installation of carpet in our 3 bedrooms and stairs. The quote on 5/23/25 was $2,663.12. We liked the price so discussed with ***** we would like to proceed with the installation. ***** then told me I had to pay a $45 deposit to move forward with measurements and complete the order. After we paid the $45 deposit, Carpet Liquidators then sent someone out to do measurements. I was then sent an updated quote on 6/4/25 of $3,668.20. Was told by ***** that this updated quote now includes the carpet cost for the stairs that apparently, they did not include in the first quote. On the first quote, we were only charged a flat fee of $10 for each step (12) with no mention of needing to add additional costs for the square footage of the carpet for the stairs. Also, on this updated quote, we were charged for 14 stairs. But we only have 12 stairs, and 12 was on the original quote. So, we decided to not use Carpet Liquidators and instead go with a different company for our carpet installation. We have since reached out to ***** via email requesting a refund for this $45. We then received a response; in summary they will not refund the $45 deposit. ***** said in this email that she previous told us the original quote did not include stair measurement, but this is not true. She never told me that and there is no record of this on the original quote. We feel that Carpet Liquidators has been dishonest during this process. They even tried to add a few stairs (that we don't have) to the quote. We would have never paid the deposit if we knew the quote had the potential to increase by over a $1000.

I apologize for the inconvenience and your feedback is appreciated. This is the reason we like to send out our Installation Team to measure the jobsite. The total price went up because more carpet was needed.

I'm not sure where the disconnect was regarding the stairs but, in the end, you would have only been charged for the number of stairs we installed. I am happy to refund your $45 measure fee. Please contact me directly and I will make that happen. 206.332.0566

      Thanks again for the feedback.

This is in regard to the property and its appearance in the Olympia Location, owner *******************************. The back of the property butts up to our neighborhood and it has a sidewalk that our children under 10 must use to get to school as it is a school zone. It is overgrown with weeds and tall grass, graffiti, garbage and everything else. It also has a drainage ditch (pretty deep) that is supposed to stay clear. It is not only unsafe, but also an eyesore to our neighborhood. This is a business and must be taken care of. We did not ask him to place his business here, but we were told he needed to maintain it, we have talked to the "manager" of the store, he agrees it's an eyesore and a problem but says owner doesn't want to pay, AKA ********************. As a neighborhood we are taking action.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We sent someone out to work on it and they will continue to maintain it. Let us know if you have any more concerns.

I paid the full **** for carpet and installation. The installer came out on 07/13/2022. The installation was substandard. There are visible staples on the top step (pictures 1 and 2) and on the bottom step (picture 3). The staples on the bottom step are particular egregious. You will notice that picture 3 is not a closeup. I did not magnify the image in order to find small imperfections. You can literally see the staples from 10 feet away. You should not be able to see carpet staples after a professional installation. The carpet on the landing is not square. It is quite noticeable with the naked eye, although not super obvious from the pictures. But if you look at the edges (pictures 4-5), you can see where the pattern is not square with the wall. And you can also see that the landing pattern is not square from picture 3 as well. The direction of the carpet on the bottom step is out of sync with the rest of the installation. The carpet on the stairs flows down--the pattern is vertical. The patter of the carpet on the landing is also vertical. However, the pattern on the bottom step is horizontal. I am fairly confident that it is not standard practice to have the pattern of one step go in an entirely different direction from the rest of the install. (pictures 6-7)Picture 8 shows odd strings coming out of the carpet on the top step. I cannot pull them out. So...am I suppose to cut them? Will that damage the integrity of the carpet? I notified *********************, my contact at Carpet Liquidators immediately via email on 07/14/2022, with these same complaints and same pictures. That was 10 days ago. He has my email, my phone number, and my home address. None of these mediums was convenient enough to use to respond to my complaint.
