    I placed an order from a winery to have wine delivered from *********** to our home in *******. We have been doing this for several years. The winery have always used **** Because my wife and I work, we are never home doing the weekdays to sign for the package. Most recently, I called *** before I placed the order to explain the problem and they suggested that I have the package held at a UPS store near our home rather than waiting several delivery attempts to ultimately have it held at their transit center. Anyway, they provided me the address of the The UPS Store (Store ****) on ********** and told me to use it to have my order held at that store. *** told me there is no extra charge for this. I place the order with the winery with the UPS Stores address as directed. I was notified yesterday the package was sent and email me that the package was delivered today (9/13/22). When I went to pick-up delivery, I was told I am being charged $20 for this service. I asked why and they said we are an independent contractor and should not have been told this by **** I paid the money for the package, and I immediately called *** about the problem. I was told I should not have been charged this fee and told me to call UPS Store corporate to file a complaint. Which I have but no resolution.

    The UPS Stores are independently owned businesses and are independently owned and operated businesses.  We advertise as so, and it is posted on our front door.

    ********************* never contacted this The UPS Store to inquire about using our service for receiving packages, and if he had he would have been notified of the charges for receiving packages as a non-mailbox holder.  Receiving packages is a service that is available included with mailbox rental service.

    If a customer knowingly gives our address as a ship to address, we will receive packages for the customer, but for a fee.  This fee varies by weight and dimensions.  $5, $10, or $20 for 3 days storage, and then per day storage fee per package after the first 3 days.

    *** should not have told the customer that there is not fee, and the customer should continue bring this up with **** or can try reaching out to The UPS Store Corporate ************** to request to place pressure on *** to stop giving out incorrect information.
