FACTS:1. I had a houseboat that needed to be moved and JD Barge was engaged to move it.2. Terms of the engagement were to move it early in the morning (calm water), face north, and hook up power and water.3. The houseboat was fully functioning at the origin ******.4. When the left the houseboat at the destination ******* they did not hook up power nor water.5. ******* indicated after they left the destination ****** that they did not hook up power due to not having the adapter. (please remember that the adapter for shore power was there when they picked up the houseboat)6. ******* was advised to send someone back to the origin ****** to pick up the adapter cable so that electricity could be established. He did not. The adapters value is approx $650. He is in the business and knows that these are valuable- so I asked was it laziness? negligence? or theft?7. I have called, written and emailed requesting an explanation and he (and his staff) have refused. He has yet to answer what happened to the adapter AND- why did he not hook up the water?8. His failure to provide electricity meant that the bilge was not working. As such, I had substantial damage to the houseboat. When I arrived back in *********** was unable to stay there and had to rent a hotel. I have not asked for compensation, I want an explanation. Why did he not hook up the water? And if he did not intentionally misplace the adapter- why did a member of his staff leave me a voice mail (screaming at me- not very professional) and state they would never list something on Marketplace. Since I never suggested that they listed it on Marketplace- the gut feeling is that this is not the first time that they have "misplaced" an expensive component. I hope that the BBB can get a response from ******* on why he did not hook up the water and what happened to the power adapter. Thank you.

I've attached the email screenshot from the day we delivered his houseboat. ******* sent him an email with a picture of the boat properly tied up. As you can see after all he responded with was "I assume everyone has left, was hoping to get the sign taken down". It was not until 2 months later when he still had not paid us and we demanded payment that he is claiming we stole his power cord and that his boat was not tied up properly therefore floating in the lake. Some people you can just not reason with.

I am rejecting this response because:

    1. They provided false information

    2. They did not answer the questions:  Why did they not hook up power and water?  This was stipulated in the contract since I was across the country and needed to ensure that it had power.  They were negligent and have refused to answer.

    Sincerely,
