    Work: Chimney ***airs and flue lining rebuild: Dates 12/12-12/14, was guaranteed to be a 2 day job. Met the contractor as he was walking my neighborhood looking for business. Work was to include full chimney and flue lining rebuild. Agreed on work with initial quote $5,500, demanded cash payment, said he would knock the price down to $5000, was very high pressure wanting cash only. ****** to that price and cash. The proposal was written. After starting masonry work the contractor claimed that additional roofing work was needed. Structural Deck ***airs to the plywood sheathing for another $4,000. Upon inspection the existing shingles were not removed, a new layer of shingles were weaved in over top of the existing shingles. Owner's *** asked the contractor how sheathing ***airs were conducted if shingles were not removed as it would not be possible. Contractor lied about methods of work and maintained that deck ***air had occurred. From the attic it was confirmed that no sheathing was ***laced. The new overlay shingles were red in color, while existing shingles were gray/green. Owner demanded a better match of shingle color. When new shingles were being installed the laborers on roof confirmed that no roof deck work was performed and the new shingles were being installed due to trade damage caused to the shingles during masonry ***airs. The original underlayment was still in place but the double layer of shingles were removed and a better shingle match was installed. Contractor came on 12/24/24 demanded the additional $4,000, said all the work was complete. I gave him the $4,000.I have requested a written estimate, a final receipt for payment and a written warranty several times. He promised over and over to send one. Still have not received anything in the mail to this day.Last communication, I let him know that the work was still not complete, asked him when he was gonna come back. He said he was waiting on materials then hung up.

    Work: rebuild chimney Dates: 29 Sept - 1 Oct They came to my house on Sunday 29 September with a very pressured sell; we finally agreed on a price (in cash), though I was trying to get more references beforehand; I called one provided customer, who said the company was "meticulous" [they turned out not to be]On same day, the chimney, which was in bad shape, was half demolished by crew, with debris thrown down on my neighbor's lawn (I had said ok to throw debris, but not on my neighbor's property)On 1 October, after the chimney job was complete, I said I would make a partial payment until the clean-up was completed and got screamed at for "where is the trust?" I was intimidated to make full payment.On 4 October, via text message, I told them that 1) there was still stuff (debris) in my driveway and a missing knife, and 2) please send me a reeipt and promised warrantee either to my e-mail address (given) or to my mailing address.On 11 October, with no action on the part of the company, I sent another e-mail stating the clean-up was not finished, the knife not returned, and I had not received any warranty or receipt. I asked if I should report them to the BBB, at which point I got an aggressive phone call. After that call, I got a text message saying he would send someone to finish the clean up and send me the paperwork via the (regular) ******* is now 30 October, NONE of those actions by the company has been taken. They have not finished the clean-up, have not returned my knife, and have not supplied a receipt for the work, or guarantee/warranty.
