Business doesn't adequately advertise that they are 100% vegan. I ordered online. The menu has something called a Chicken Caesar Salad. The ingredients list "chicken" and there is no chicken. It is Seiten. If they call something chicken it should be chicken. When I called the lady that answered the phone was rude.

First and foremost, our restaurant proudly advertises itself as 100% vegan on all  platformsour website, social media, online ordering and search engine pages. This is stated prominently and repeatedly, ensuring complete transparency about our offerings. It is not possible to access the online ordering system without first navigating through platforms where our vegan identity is clearly highlighted. Additionally, the online ordering page itself states at the top that we are a 100% vegan establishment.

Regarding the specific item descriptions, they are labeled as house-made, and while we use terms like chicken to describe the style of the dish, we do so in the context of vegan cuisine, a practice that is common in plant-based dining. The intention is not to mislead but to provide familiar terminology for our guests while emphasizing the creative, plant-based approach we take.

I also want to address your interaction with my employee. I was informed of the conversation immediately afterward, and I trust her account of the exchange. She confirmed to you during the call that the term vegan is clearly visible on the online ordering page, yet it seems there was some disagreement. While I understand that misunderstandings can arise, I must ask that all communication remain respectful. My staff strives to provide excellent service, and I stand by their professionalism.

We are proud of the food we serve and the integrity with which we operate. If you have any further questions or need clarification, I would be happy to assist.

    Thank you for your understanding.

I am rejecting this response because:

I resent any assumption on anyone's part that I was rude. It was, in fact, the employee that was rude to me.

The indication that the restaurant is 100% vegan is not that apparent and is easily missed. Even the sign on outside of the building doesn't indicate that the menu is 100% vegan. It just says, "vegan food."

I wouldn't have ordered fake "chicken" had I known. Common practice amongst vegans is not any indication that a practice is common anywhere else. In fact, there is prominent disagreement that seitan, or any other substitution should ever be called anything other than what it, in fact, actually is. The inclusion of the appropriate wording on the menu would eliminate any confusion. Calling it vegan "chicken" would solve it.

And, finally, the waitress offered a refund. I hadn't asked for one. But, I will accept my refund, as offered.

    Thank you

As a 100% vegan restaurant, we take pride in clearly communicating this aspect of our identity. To assist our guests in making informed decisions, weve ensured that our ****** page, website, and online ordering platforms prominently state that we are a vegan establishment. Additionally, our physical signage includes the term vegan grub. Ive included screenshots of these resources to illustrate how transparent we strive to be.

We understand that misunderstandings can occur, and we regret if this detail was overlooked during your order. However, we stand by the accuracy of our descriptions and signage, which are designed to be clear and upfront about the type of cuisine we offer.

While I do not believe there was any negligence on our part, nor do I believe that my employee acted rudely as you have claimed, I have processed a refund to your credit card as a gesture of goodwill.

Thank you for your understanding, and we wish you the best moving forward.
