Too long, didn't read:Furnace fan slipped and dented. I followed ***'s instruction to put the fan back as a stopgap with his promise to come to replace the fan. He never did, my furnace is now limping along with obvious sounds of a broken fan and unwanted vibrations. Untrustworthy.Whole story:We bought a new construction and the **** system was installed by Kimball. In the heat of summer, our coil suddenly froze up so I reached out to *** at Kimball Mechanical. He told me that with the furnaces they install, a Rheem furnace, sometimes the set s**** on the fan isn't on properly and the fan falls off of the motor shaft. After I opened up the furnace to inspect it, with his help over the phone, I confirmed that this was the case. He mentioned that he was far from where I lived and couldn't come right away to replace the fan/motor. I did not want to rush him, and thinking I could provide some flexibility, I spent the next two hours taking the fan out of the furnace, slip the fan off of the shaft, remove the stuck set screw, and place the motor back in.After doing all of that, because I wanted to be helpful and have a functional ****, he never showed up with a fan to replace. After calling multiple times across months, he pretty much ghosted me. I even asked for just the new motor and fan assembly, I can do the rest of it myself. Nothing. With the broken fan installed, it's been limping along for about 4 years now, and nearing the end of its life due to a slight thumping sound and unwanted vibrations. It will need to be replaced soon. I will have to find someone more reliable to replace the motor and fan assembly with added cost, when all of this could have been done under warranty of the original manufacturer.I am very disappointed in *** Kimball and would not recommend him for any of his services. Untrustworthy, poor communication, and overall, unreliable once he has your money. It's better to save your money to find someone who's willing to back their work.
