After taking my car to Clarks tire and automotive 9/24/2024, ***** ***** of Clarks tire and automotive who was my boss at the time in his other business Clarks builders, assured me that he would get the shop to fix my car quickly and get it back to me. After several weeks I asked about my car and he started telling me that it needed a rocker arm and push rod. After several more weeks he told me that he was just going to use my warranty to get me an entire engine replacement. That seemed excessive but I trusted his judgement. He then told me he would be submitting a bill to my warranty company for over $16,000. When my warranty company informed him that they would only cover $6800, he began a fight with them. This fight went on for several months, meanwhile I started to see the unethical practices he was conducting in both businesses and began to confront him about it. He started to become agitated and refused my pay. *** filed a claimed with L&I regarding that. I started looking for employment elsewhere but at the same time, felt trapped because he began having my vehicle tore apart so that I could not take it elsewhere. He assured me over and over that he was going to force the warranty company to pay for everything he was going. After 5 months of requesting my vehicle back and holding him accountable to the many lies he sold me about my warranty company doing the wrong thing, he finally presented me with my car + a $3,000 bill for excessive hours and many parts replaced that were entirely unnecessary. I was able to receive possession of my vehicle after confronting him further with how wrong all of it was. Since he has refused my paycheck from Clarks builders, Ive been unable to pay anything toward that unjust bill he charged me through Clarks tire and automotive. Now he is threatening to sue me over it! What he owes me far supersedes what my bill is with his shop. He owes me over $35,000. Also, my car still does not run properly after all of it.Business Response

Hello,
Loni did bring her vehicle in for a diagnosis. We did attempt to replace one rocker but the damage was already done. I called the extended warranty and they asked me for an estimate. And a copy of her oil change history. Once I received those I sent them to her warranty company. It took them a few days and said she only has around ******* left on her warranty.
plus she had a ****** deductible.
I told her I wasnt going to charge her that to help her out. I told her what other parts are required to install the engine and she said, Del already changed all those. I said, well Ill verify it and if so Ill get them warranted out even though we didnt do them.
That was not the case, I told her what I could warranty and what she would owe.
******, my master tech, pulled the engine out and we waited for the engine to show up. That took about a month. He built that engine and the only thing left to install was the valve covers. Her warranty company stated they sent us an engine from ******** and it wasnt. It was from ********. The spark plug tubes were installed wrong from whoever rebuilt that engine. That took a few weeks to sort out because we were dealing with backyard mechanics who thought they knew more than he. We asked them to get us tune seals and tubes since it was ready to install and we had the correct part to install them they decided to send us another engine. So we had to tear that completely down again and wait for another engine to show up. It showed up but they didnt send us a gasket kit, I called and they said to use the one they sent with the previous engine and we said no, once used and removed they are no good. They said it would take a couple weeks for gaskets so I just bought her gaskets so we can finish it.
Once it was done we test drive it to verify and it was good and passed. **** came in and made a scene at the front counter, called me and I took care of it.
she owes her bill and I did file a lien on it, once I receive that back this week Ill have it impounded. They owe for custom wheels and tires still with interest and this bill now thats past due.Thank you,
***** Clark

I am rejecting this response because:I have enclosed a file of all the screenshots to my personal phone between ***** ***** and I regarding the absolute runaround he gave me for the 5 months that he held my Durango hostage while he used me to advance his other business and also refused to pay me. This is just a portion of the evidence of the lies he gave. I also have witnesses including my husband, uncle, coworker, warranty adviser, and engine remanufacturer which can attest to the absolute fraud committed by Clark's tire and automotive regarding my vehicle. I have evidence of my engine NOT being the one which was sent under my warranty, the cam phasers having been tampered with, and several parts being replaced which didn't need to be. I also am able and willing to provide further audio recorded evidence of this fraud that ***** ***** attempted to commit against my warranty company by way of my vehicle. My vehicle only needed minimal work done to be drivable and it should have been in the shop for a couple of days tops. Instead, my vehicle was sabotaged so that ***** ***** could claim a $16,000 engine replacement tab from the warranty company. You can see from the text messages that it was very convoluted and I was in a very difficult position as an employee at his mercy. Only when he realized he was going to lose me as an employee and could not manipulate the system to get a fat payday out of my car's warranty, did he decide to pass a big chunk of his wasted fraudulent time and parts spent on to me. This is the most egregious situation I have ever been subject to. It includes financial abuse, intimidation, manipulation, and absolute crookery. Completely criminal. The 'work' performed did not result in my vehicle being safe or usable. It still does not run. ***** ***** only demanded that I pay his outrageous bill after refusing to pay me what he owes which is significantly more than his bill to me. I have filed all of the appropriate documents with all of the appropriate entities regarding that as well. ***** ***** should drop this bill if he does not wish to face criminal charges.
Sincerely,
**** ******Initial Complaint

I had my yukon towed to Clarks 09/06/2022 due to possibly needing a new fuel pump. Clarks replaced fuel pump and filter with no issues we pick it up 09/08/2022. We drive it for a couple days and it starts acting funny again we bring it in 09/13/2022 back to Clarks for them to call us 2 days later claiming the gas was bad. It was the same gas in the truck at the same time they change the fuel pump the first time and nothing was ever said until we brought it back. Now Clarks claiming they cant do anything for us we need to take it to another automotive place to have the tank dropped and cleaned out. Ive decided to reach out to other automotive places and they all believe Clarks didnt even put in a new pump in the first place as its a minimum of 3 hour job to drop our tank and they said it took 1.5 hours. We are requesting a full refund now as we believe they didnt do the job as stated.Business Response

My husband and I brought our 2016 red Dodge Journey to these guys to have a window switch fixed. The power windows would occasionally stop working and make a buzzing sound. We would turn car off and back on and they would work again. There was obviously something wrong so we took it to ******* to have it fixed. They called my husband and told him to come pick it up and that they couldn't fix it. He asked for our old window switch back as well and they did not have it anymore. When it came back to us, the windows no longer work AT ALL and there is not even a buzzing sound like there was before. They completely broke our window electric system. We brought it in with an occasional problem with the windows and got it back with windows completely inoperable and not working. This is absolutely their responsibility and we want our windows either fixed or back the way they were when we dropped it off- working most of the time. It's been almost a month and they have not returned callsBusiness Response

At the time it was a bad window switch, we repaired that and everything worked great and the customer left. They did bring it back at some point and we checked it out again and told them it needs a new regulator and motor. They said they would think about it and they left. Then we receive this notices and called the customer to see whats going on. Spoke to ************* and he said he took it To a ************** to have it repaired after we diagnosed it. Then he hung up on us.
So not sure what to do but Ill say this, we did repair it and recommend another part he took it elsewhere and we tried to call and resolve it and he hung up on us.
Not more I can do,
