This install was on Jan. 19th and 20th of 2023. This was a furnace install by a home warranty. Home warranty doesn't cover the cost of anything outside of the furnace and it's install. This furnace company was chosen by the home warranty. I was to cover the cost of the supply and return which was to cost $500.00 and included a new modification for the air supply, and a modification for the transition piece above the furnace. Also included was a vent mod, at $100.00, electrical mode, at $60.00, and gas line mod at $50.00. I agreed over the phone to the home warranty specialist. The furnace came in with a dent on it, that was hammered out and painted. On top of that ***** didn't need to do the air supply mod and was able to use the old one. Also, the electrical work that was done, wasn't to code he didn't install it with protected conduit. He still wanted to charge me the full $710.00 for the install, even though I didn't get all the parts he quoted me for and that he didn't install the electrical per code. Not to mention the dented furnace. Now he says that originally he quoted me for the 2 pieces, new modification for the air supply, and a modification for the transition piece above the furnace at $500.00, but now says just the one piece he put in, cost $500.00 so he wants me to pay the whole thing. He quoted the prices, not me, I shouldn't have to pay for things I didn't get. Plus his whole argument that it cost him $500.00 for that one piece is bogus. I have two quotes, for the same specs. by reputable metal fabricators in *******. Keep in mind also, this would be a one time purchase so I am not getting any kind of discounts which I expect ***** would since he has a business ordering form his manufacture. One quote was for $405.00 the other quote is for $313.95. I need help, he says I need to pay the whole thing or he will pull out his material, or put a lien on my house. I am more than willing to pay for what I received.
