During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company seized my unit and sold my belongings before I could bring my account out of arrears. They kept the profits from the sale and destroyed my personal items. Despite this, they have not taken the necessary steps to compensate me and have withheld the reimbursements from the sale.I want them to reimburse me plus interest for the money they have withheld. it has been more then 4 years that they have been malicious and held the profit from the sale of personal goods.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/07/2025

In May 2021, the contents of this former tenants storage unit were sold at auction due to non-payment, in accordance with our facilitys policies and state lien laws. Following the sale, the auction winner returned certain personal items and documents to our *********** that time, we made multiple attempts to notify the tenant that these personal belongings and the overage proceeds from the auction were available for pickup.

Despite our outreach, the tenant did not respond or retrieve the items. After a significant period of non-communication,the unclaimed personal belongings were eventually disposed of. The tenant did not contact us again until January 2024nearly three years laterat which point we once again offered to mail the overage check or hold it for pickup. However,we received no further response.

As required by law, the unclaimed auction proceeds were transferred to the State of Washington as unclaimed property. The tenant may recover these funds by contacting the ************************************** at ************** and referencing Property ID Number ********.

We have acted in good faith and in full compliance with our policies and legal obligations. We regret any misunderstanding but encourage the tenant to follow up directly with the state to claim the funds.
