Date of transaction: May 28, 2025 Amount paid: $300 I hired ***** **** to seal and repair my backyard patio. He committed to washing, sealing, and repairing cracks in the concrete, as outlined in a signed written proposal. Instead, he caused severe damage that now requires professional repair. He applied the sealant during extreme heat, which caused hundreds of bubbles and ringlets across the patio surface. He did not tape off any surrounding areas, leading to sealant splatter on my vinyl siding and wood patio. When he attempted to remove the splatter, he stripped the paint off my patio. He also left cigarette butts in my backyard, and I found one in my small dogs mouth a major safety concern. He missed several workdays, saying he didnt have gas money despite me giving him cash for gas and tools. He requested advance payments five times, including $200 to retrieve something from a **** shop. Even after all the damage, he still asked to be paid.I paid ***** **** $300, but I am now facing: $600 to chemically strip and reseal the entire patio $200 to remove and replace damaged decorative tiles $300 to sand and repaint the wood trim, posts, and patio planks This totals $1,100 in damages, on top of what I already paid.I have photos, videos, and text messages that document the damage and our communication. I also have a signed written proposal from Mr. **** showing the work and payment terms (attached). I attempted to resolve this directly with him, but he has not offered a solution.I am requesting a full refund of $300 and reimbursement of $1,100 in damages to cover the cost of professional repairs. I ask that this complaint be made public to protect other homeowners. I am also consulting legal counsel to explore further action if needed.Supporting photos and the signed proposal are attached.
