************************* with Pacific NorthWest Decks LLC took $2,100 for the labor on a project to enlarge our deck. On the day that the project was to start, he arrived and asked for another $4,000.00. We refused because it was not what we agreed to. We asked for $1,800.00 back. He could keep the $300.00. He said that he would do so, but two weeks later, and we do not have our $1,800.00.

The $2,100 was a deposit to be put on my schedule. before the job started I was invited back to take a look at a few more things that The ******* wanted to be done/ needed to be done. You cant add more work for a company then be surprised that the job is going to cost more in total. I sent them the updated invoice and received a phone call a few days later about them wanting to cancel the job. This was abrupt due to the job starting in 1.5 weeks. I told them it wasn't very fair for them to add work and expect the job to stay the same cost wise. Then abruptly cancel the job less than two weeks away. I eventually told them it would be alright if I could keep $300 from the deposit and return $1,800 of it. The return of the agreed total has been done ill attach pictures proving it.

I am rejecting this response because: The money that we gave to the company was to put us on their schedule for early August (not a deposit).  After the owner visited our deck and we went over everything, and then finalized the price sheet, we started buying the supplies ourselves.  The deck project kept getting pushed back, into late September.  The owner came back to our house to double check on the deck project and then decided to add things (which he should have noticed when he first came out to do all the measurements and came up with a supply list and price).  He then wanted to add $4,000 in labor costs.  We did not accept that and requested our money back, but let him keep $300 for the hassle.  Now we have no deck boards (since we took them off ourselves) and have to find a new contractor.

    Sincerely,
