    This company (Secure Spade Self Storage) purchased the original storage company (******************* Storage last year. When I rented a storage unit from the former company 5 years ago, they employed very attentive employees who provided excellent customer service. The facility was also was protected by security cameras and each unit had a door alarm. The current company discontinued the door alarms on the units without notifying the tenants. The current employees also have not been trained to use the security camera system. On 8/31 and 9/1 2023 several storage units were broken into and most had items stolen. My storage unit was among the ones broken into. It took the company five days to inform me of this situation and the door to my unit remained unsecured during that time. I had a loss of several thousand dollars worth of items from my unit. The manager who was onsite informed me that they also were not trained on how to use the security camera system and would not be able to help with potential video evidence of the crime. She was also unable to explain why the door alarm system had been removed from the units. The boss above the manager was non responsive to calls from her employees regarding this serious security situation. I was left with no answers and very little concern for my situation. This facility should be avoided if you value the security of your belongings and good customer service.
