    9/6/22 Accepted bid for the removal of two trees. Total $8748.00 9/7/22 Check #**** for 10% down $875.00 was paid. 9/8/22 Check #**** posted to our account. 9/7 /22 Tree removal was scheduled for 9/26/22 9/26/22 **** I attempted to reach ***** requesting the time they would be arriving. He finally answered at **** advising the crane they scheduled had broken down, and we would need to reschedule. I asked what might be the next available date. No further correspondence has been received from him since that time. Numerous texts, calls, and emails have gone unanswered. 10/20/2022 A certified letter requesting a refund was mailed to his address listed on the L&I web site. *******************************************************. The letter was returned. (address is the **********************, ***************** building.)10/21/2022 A certified letter requesting a refund was mailed to his address POB 862 ************************ (listed on his web site.     ***** (Dawkins Tree Care owner) told me that he was licensed, bonded, and insured. His website states the same. I hired him to remove three largetrees from my property and during the removal my concrete sidewalk and water line were broken as a result of the workbeing done. I let the sidewalk damage go, but the water line damage is significant. ***** tried to convince me that the citywould pay to fix the damaged water line, but it is on my property and the city does not cover that. I called to verify. He saidthat he would come by and see if he could patch it up, but was not able to. He again tried to say that the city should haveupdated my water line long ago, but it is on my property, after the meter. The city does not cover this damage and I had noissues with the water line before it was damaged by his workers during the removal of my trees. He offered to remove thestumps and buy the parts to have the water line fixed at the beginning of July as he did not want to file an insurance claim.He has continued to put it off. He finally told me to take it up with his insurance. I looked it up last night and saw that he isnot insured. I checked his website again, and it still says he is licensed, bonded, and insured. He is not. My water line isbroken and I am losing (and paying for) a lot of extra water through this process. The work was done on May 31, 2022. ******* covered the damage and I did not discover the damage until all of the wood was removed and my yard cleaned up onJune 22, 2022. I contacted both the city of Tacoma and ***** that same day.
