On Jan. 20, 2024, my business Revitalize! Health ************* Store was flooded by breakage of two city water meters across the alley. Water flowed under my warehouse door and flooded by grocery store and nine other rooms. The City of ********* utilizes a pooling of money for insurance purposes under the name of Washington Cities Insurance Authority. WCIA hired ******** as the adjuster on my case.I have tried to get answers and progress to happen on my case, but the adjuster is unwilling to communicate. I have repeatedly let *******************************, the claim manager at WCIA know that ******** is not fulfilling their role as an adjuster and he is unresponsive. My business is a woman owned business. I am single and it is my only means of living. They have been dragging their feet for five months. This is causing huge problems to my business. My business has dropped at least 50% because of the rooms being torn up and not being able to sell groceries, personal care and cleaning products, as they are all boxed up waiting for the restoration process.Customers have complained about the musty smell. We have found mold. I have had to proceed with my own money to start work on the restoration. This is unconscionable for any business to be put through, let alone when you are playing with a single woman's only means of survival and ruining her reputation. It also greatly reduces the aptness of customers returning, when they have already come back numerous times unsuccessfully to shop with no progress and no end in sight.I need help, please!***************************

      Business Response

      Date: 06/21/2024

Washington Cities Insurance Authority (WCIA) is a public entity municipal risk pool, not a business. WCIA is a division of local government and all of our employees are public servants.

***************************, via her business, Revitalize, is not our customer. She is a 3rd party claimant to the City of *********, with whom we have a contractual relationship. ********************* has received substantial response and direction on her claim which she chooses to ignore, as is her prerogative.

As WCIA is not a business and ********************* is not our customer, I trust this will resolve these concerns.

      *******************************
