    I have to share my experience applying to El Porton in ******, ** as I am appalled by this illegal activity. I was invited in for an interview which turned out to be a working interview and when I asked if there would be paperwork filled out and if I am going to be paid for it, the manager informed me that it would be unpaid labor with no paperwork and no mention of requiring a food handlers! The MANAGER of this restaurant wanted applicants to give free labor and touch your food with NO proper food handlers training so if you get sick after dining with them on Monday May 15th, 2023 please be aware of this huge health and workplace violation that has occurred. It is illegal under federal wage laws to not pay wages for any hours worked. It seems El Porton is illegally squeezing unpaid free labor from applicants under the guise of of a work interview. I have filed a complaint with L&I and I will be filing a complaint with the health department. No one should be ordering food from an establishment that doesnt enforce food handlers for trainees, thats asking for foodborne illness and shows unprofessionalism in how they run their business
