I really tried to work with this place, but the lack of respect I was paid and the quality of work was abysmal. I took my vintage ******** here to fix and timing issue that I actually caused when replacing my timing chain. The timing chain slipped when I fed in the new one and the car missed and stumbled ever since. I took it to AIR and told them exactly what happened and what needed to happen to get the car back running correctly. I made sure it was noted for the mechanic that worked on it. I was then presented a **** for over $3200.00 dollars in unnecessary repairs, on top of it they didn't correct the timing and **** argued with me about how the timing was correct in the book and this was either bad gas or a fuel distributor. Ignoring the fact that I told them that the car ran just fine prior to me doing the timing chain. I called back sometime later and tried to get them to stand by their work and make it right. They said to bring it back in, so I reiterated what was wrong and how to fix it, also in the mechanic notes. To top it off I was presented with a **** for $900.00 with another $900.00 in recommended unnecessary repairs. The car timing was not corrected as I told them needed to be done. Then they made the excuse that it's bad gas again (even though the gas was fresh), the motor mounts needed to be changed and that these ******** never ran smoothly from the factory!! Anyone that owns a W126 ******** knows that's complete BS. I tried to call and email them to work out a resolution, no response. This place is just interested in replacing parts at your expense, find someplace else this place is hot garbage at best, you and your car deserve better!!!

This is an unfortunate incident where a customer tried to do work on their own car. Timing chains should always be left to professionals who can catch huge mistakes before they happen. This repair was less than $600 and a ******** key was installed to make sure the camshaft and crankshaft were in alignment. Redoing the timing chains is far beyond what the customer believes to be an expensive repair. As far as "unnecessary" repairs we recommend brake fluid flushes when the brake fluid is very dark in color and oil pan gaskets when we see visible oil leaks. Again, we do not recommend customers working on their own cars with little to no knowledge of the repairs unless they're willing to pay almost double what they would have in the first place had they left it to the professionals.

None of my concerns were addressed in this reply, why I chose to work on my own car should be on full display in your response. Basically, this reply is an admission of guilt poorly disguised as a chastisement for working on my own car, incredible. I brought the vehicle in to correct the work I obviously had trouble with due to not having the proper tools, not because I didn't have the proper knowledge. You shouldn't assume that everyone that comes into your shop that isn't an ASE-certified mechanic is a simp in need of fleecing. The bottom line is that you didn't fix the issue, you made it worse and charged ungodly money to do so. Instead of simply apologizing and either returning my money or offering to complete the repair and make this right you chose to belittle me! From where I am sitting, if you had the knowledge and professionalism you say you do, my vehicle would be running correctly and we wouldn't be having this conversation. One final point, I did pay double and then some, the part that ***** me up is it runs even worse than it did before. You should be ashamed, it's obvious that your sense of decency is in need of repair.
