I contacted Mr. ******** at the phone number provided and confirmed that he is ******* ******** *** (not ******* ******** ***).  Based on this information, it appears that Mr. ******** *** opened the current utility account at ********************************************** using his father's SSN and DOB.  Based on this new information, the current utility account that was opened under ******* ******** *** has been updated to reflect that the responsible party is ******* ******** ***

Based on this updated information, this complaint lacks merit.

This former customer has an outstanding debt to ********************** for ********************** services that he requested and received.  Due to non-payment, the account was turned over to a collection agency.  Since this delinquency is properly reported on his credit report, the report will not be modified.

This company isn't willing to work with me on this I've been disputing this transaction since day one. This was my first home in Clark County that I was renting from a friend, unfortunately there was a falling out where they needed to sell their home quick and ended up illegally evicting us from the property with only twenty days to move. This was in early May, during this time there was construction going on in the home illegally while we were still dwelling and they had moved into one of the spare bedrooms without asking any for permission. At one point they cut out our internet while doing construction on the house and I was working remote.. As to not cause in issue we moved out of the home but I wasn't aware at the time that I had to take my name off the utility company immediately. The landlord and ex friend did not report the new owner ship either and continued construction and racked up the bill further until I started receiving letters at my new address that I owed over 600$. I called Clark Public Utilities immediately and they were not willing to work with me, they told me I would have to take it to small claims court but really all they would need to do is change the bill to the correct person. This has now hit my collections and has accrued interest. I'm willing to pay for any utility bills while I actually lived at the address but this isn't my debt to pay, I know the name of the landlord and can provide any information needed. I've also listed the dates and transactions that I'm disputing.05/20 - 91.79 06/18 - 59.07 07/21 - 169.11 08/19 - 122.06 09/21 - 115.46 10/20 - 83.73 10/25 - 34.46

When a customer opens a ********************** account they are legally responsible for the costs associated with utility service at that location until the account is closed.  In this case, ************** open an account with ********************** when he moved into his residence, but then failed to notify us when he moved out.  The utility only became aware of this change in residency when the new occupant opened an account five months after ************* says that he moved out.  As a non-profit entity, we are required to pursue recovery on this account because ************** is financially responsible for these charges.

I am rejecting this response because: They are not willing to work with consumers on issues like this reflects the kind of dictatorship attitude that no matter the circumstance or case i'm stuck holding the bill. It screams volumes about the morality of this company and their unwillingness to even budge or try to attempt to resolve this issue. The debt isn't mine, I didn't live there during those months, you will have to figure out a way to collect the money from somebody else or find a way to work this out with me, otherwise you will never get a cent from me and i'll continue to complain about your companies practices to any and everyone I know. I think it's extremely poor of you guys to treat someone who make a mistake and then to have it hit their collections and start charging interest. What a terrible experience with a utility company, 0 willingness to work with the client over real world issues due to their extreme 0 tolerance behavior.  I will not be closing this complaint as the company has done nothing to help resolve the issue except be extremely agressive to try and collect a debt that is not mine.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

Subject: BBB Complaint - Lack of Full Disclosure, Misrepresentation, and Threats Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a comprehensive complaint against Public Utility District No. 1 of Clark County, WA concerning a lack of full disclosure, potential misrepresentation, and threats affecting consumers, including myself. This complaint is rooted in a paper trail that exposes a chain of actions leading from misrepresentation by Public Utility District No. 1 of Clark County, WA to the securitization, and collateralization of Electric Revenue Bonds, causing harm, and restricting my rights of trade. The sequence of events begins with my role as a silent investor and consumer in Public Utility District No. 1 of Clark County, WA. Through what I believe to be misrepresentation and a breach of fiduciary duty, my assets were pledged to Energy Northwest and subsequently to ******************************* (BPA). This collateral, pooled together as security for Electric Revenue Bonds, is allegedly overseen by an indenture trustee, possibly **** of New York Mellon. This claim is supported by public information available on ****************** financial institutions, including but not limited to book entries on interests of actual purchasers, beneficial owners, direct and indirect participants. This paper trail is causing significant injury, harm, and interference with my rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The current situation restricts my ability to engage in commerce freely.Despite three formal attempts to address these concerns through correspondences, Public Utility District No. 1 of Clark County, WA has not responded adequately. Their refusal to accept my legal tender and the threat to disconnect services exacerbate the damage caused by their lack of transparency and questionable business practices.I trust the BBB will investigate these matters thoroughly and help ensure a fair resolution.thanks in advance.******************************
