      Unfortunately, our experience with Thunder was not as good as others who have posted. Monday, 12/2/24, We were in a hurry and couldnt call for estimates as it was my mothers 84th birthday and I needed this job done ASAP to get to her house to cook dinner for family. The cable for the garage door had unwound from the cable drum. Shortly after arriving, **** stated that he could install a new garage door spring for $800. Our house is 3 years old. My husband said no, and **** stated that garage door springs only have an approximate life span of 5 years. My husband, said well wait until it breaks, we just need to get the door to work properly. **** then states that we need a new garage door opener as its not powerful enough for the oversized double door we have. No, well wait until it breaks. **** reconnected both cables to the drums, changed the tension on the garage door springs and oiled the wheels. It took him 40 minutes. My husband asked how much and **** stated $360.00 plus tax. Upon seeing my husbands expression, **** said, is that too much? My husband responded yes. **** then said, well based on the vehicle you have parked in the garage, it looks like youre doing well, Ill bring it down to $300.00 plus tax. My Husband advised that that price was double what Precession charges. So, my husband said, well youre here and well pay it, but youre never coming back. $360 for 40 minutes of work $540/hr.

      I had 3 garage door contractors come out and give me a proposal. *****, with Thunder Garage was the only one who really took the time to explain everything in detail. All 3 were within a few hundred dollars of each other and Thunder was not the lowest bid, but because they took the time and showed they cared, they got the job. They communicated well, showed up when they said they were going to show up, and did a great job on the install. Thunder Garage is now my go to for all my door needs.
