I would like to file a complain about deceptive billing practices by my GPs office, ******************************* at PeaceHealth Riverbend in ***********, **. Before making a follow-up appointment on 6/26/24 for an existing condition I requested that the visit be classified as a diagnostic visit only, due to a previous billing error when my first visit was incorrectly billed as both diagnostic and wellness. I received a reassuring message that my coming appointment would have been billed as a single visit.I have once again received a bill that includes charges for both types of visits. This is particularly frustrating as I clearly communicated my concerns about this issue prior to the appointment. Additionally, I was charged for a "tobacco" talk that I did not request. The doctor did not discuss adding a wellness visit and the tobacco talk consisted of answering two questions (do you smoke/do you want to quit). I now am being billed for a total of $330 ($294 for the visit + $36 for the tobacco questions), on top of $317 already paid by my insurance. I have requested to speak with a Case Manager but PeaceHealth is not offering this option to me and I have not been contacted by anyone to discuss the matter further, in spite of my several attempts to do so. The only exchange I have had so far is with an office assistant who can not directly work on my case. Our messages are visible on my electronic chart.I feel that I am dealing with deceptive billing practices where services were provided without my consent or knowledge. Please note that I have never received a clarification on PeaceHealth's parameters that define a doctor's visit, including the scope of topics and issues that can be appropriately addressed during a wellness vs diagnostic consultation.I find myself in need of BBB's expertise to move forward with the matter as I have exhausted my resources. Your assistance would be invaluable to resolving this situation effectively. Thanks! The total bill is $661Initial Complaint

On 07/09/2024 My MD referred me to emergency for an e**** due to impacted bowel I arrived at about 7am and they collected 110 dollars as a copay then sent my to a room where I remained for a couple hours then they did a scan and determined my bowels were full sent me back to the room (with no call button, no tv access no water and no bathroom ) where I waited about an hour for the doc to come in with his report to tell me they would administer a e**** A couple more hours passed and my nurse went to lunch and told the oncoming male nurse he needed to administer an e**** which he handed to me and told me to do it at home even tho I told him I did not know how and was pretty sure I could not do it with my injured shoulder(having had 2 rotator cuff surgeries and looking at a third) he said I (would figure it out he was going to lunch) then in the paperwork I was sent home with it says it was administered at 12:45 I left about 2 pm still miserable) I do not feel I should have paid anything for this type of care. Then they rebill me for the copay saying they did not get it I am awaiting my credit card bill to see if they got it or it did not go thru. Is this really our current health care system?Initial Complaint

On may 7, I got a hep B titer shot at peacehealth. On may 9, the clinic sent me a bill. I called my insurance, ******, about the bill and they told me the clinic needs to send the bill to them. The clinic is refusing to send the bill to my insurance. The clinic hasn't done anything to resolve this issue. The bill was for $25. I can't afford to pay the bill. I can barely pay my rent. I would like peacehealth to send the bill to my insurance. thank youInitial Complaint

I have talked to PeaceHealth several times over a billing code that they charged me for incorrectly. My insurance company sent them a check that they cashed in March of last year. They have made us send over several times all documentation including the checks that were cashed that they did check tracers on. PeaceHealth decided to turn me into collections recently. Even though we have tried several attempts and phone calls and faxes. The claim was from January they cashed the check in March and are still pursuing with collections.Initial Complaint

- I saw *************************** on 4/3/23 for vertigo and anxiety, asking for referral for one on one counseling - ****** states that one on one counseling should have a $30 copay, and that's it - I expressed to ****** that I needed counseling that would fall under this category. I had to pay 100% of the cost for an MRI within the couple of weeks prior to this visit and could not take on additional costs - ****** recommended a new collaborative program at PeaceHealth. I said as long as it was covered by the $30 copay, that I would be open to it. He did not explain anything further - I saw ************************* on 5/17, 5/31, and 6/21 for therapy, all one one one sessions - In early July, I noticed a charge for over $500 on my account. I called *** and asked for clarification - I have a voicemail from *** on 7/11 where she says the amount was exorbitant and that from what she saw, it should be a $30 copay, no deductible - I then spent the last month or so going back and forth with billing trying to get resolution. They say it's ******** fault, ****** says it's their fault. They never mentioned they billed under a code that was not the normal one one one visit.- After a phone call with PeaceHealth on 9/19, I finally got the billing code they used and discovered it is a code for ******************************* which is treated differently by ****** (deductible and copay). - I never asked for this special program and was very clear that I wanted one on one counseling covered by the $30 copay. This appears to be a special program that PeaceHealth developed with the sole intent of being able to bill under CPT Codes ***** and *****. They deceived me into thinking I was getting normal care and are now sticking me with a bill for $655.60. - They will not discuss this deception or why they never made it clear that this was a special program charged at higher rates.- I feel that I should only have to pay the $90 (3 copays) which I already paid. I should not have to pay the $655.60Initial Complaint

I talked to the business and manager 5 times and still getting harassment. I told them this is not my bill or account and the manager and they won't stop the harassment . I saved the text and messages and I will *** them if they don't stop.
