Date of Transactions: 1/17 2024 to 7/22 2024 (16 transactions)Nature of the Dispute:a. Contract Discrepancy: ************************ included "Re-route current pipes to outside, wall vent," in the contract [1], but later he claimed it wasnt up to code and not feasible, raising concerns about his honesty, negligence and professionalism.b. Increased Costs: As an alternative, ************************ advised us to consult Precision Air, an ************* which quoted $12,101.83 for replacing both the water heater and furnace to high efficiency standards [3]. This significantly escalated the cost from the $2,000 for rerouting the vent [2]. The alternative route he proposed was venting through the roof which we didn't accept considering the integrity of the house. c. Misleading Information and Unnecessary Expenses: After paying ************************ in full(7/22) , we continued to seek furnace replacement. We discovered a week later from multiple contractors that b-venting through the side wall then through the roof is a standard in the industry at the cost of only around $2,000 [2]key information that ************************ either did not know or chose to withhold. We realized that there was no need to retire our old water heater and we could have affordably re-routed the furnace and the water heater. Efforts to Resolve the Issue:I repeatedly communicated with ************************ from 8/13 to 8/17, providing quotes from other companies[2] willing to perform the work as specified in our contract [1]. He has refused to fulfill his obligations to re-route the vent as stated in the contract or offer a reasonable solution. At this point, we hope that he can refund us the amount for the item "Re-route current pipes to outside, wall vent," so we can hire other contractors to reroute the furnace.
