February 6, 2024: ***************************** arrived for roofing estimate. Owner of property was not in town. ***********************, roommate in home, offered to assist the owner with property damage coordination project. During discussions with *******, whom never looked at roof, was very pressuring and indicated he needed the contract signed to help with insurance. ***** signed the contract and indicated she would need to talk with the owner but paid deposit. February 9, 2024: ***** talked with the property owner and he indicated he was not ready to contract with Cutting Edge yet and wanted to do more research on the roofing type/materials to use. ***** texted ******* and canceled contract within the 3 days specified in the contract terms. No deposit was returned as outlined in the contract. February 15th, 2024: ***** requested temporary patching work for a leaking hole per our contractors request for mitigation efforts. Since Cutting Edge was familiar with our roof, it seemed easiest to go with them for the temporary repair work. ******* sent Israel to the jobsite since he hunting exotic animals in *****. February 16th, 2024: 1 Employee from Cutting Edge arrived at 9:30 AM and began patching 2 holes on roof. 2nd Employee arrived in a classic car with his wife, they both came inside the home and never went to roof. Both Cutting Edge employees left the property at 11:30 AM. April 6th: Received bill for services rendered on 2/16 at a rate of 6 Man Hours x 2 Men for $1500 with Materials at $350. Per the security camera footage, Cutting Edge had 1 man on the roof for 2 hours. Second person that arrived did not go on the roof at all but rather hung out inside the house and waited. Based on security footage, bill rate should have been 2 Man Hours X 1 Man = $250 + Materials (Which is clearly billed too high) but mad bill should be no greater than $600. Deposit was never returned after cancelation so deducting services rendered from deposit owed $1000, Cutting Edge owes us $400.
