    This company illegally towed my vehicle from a private lot. The company delayed contacting me about the tow until 10 days later after which it had racked up nearly $1000 in storage fees. The company later sold the car at auction for 425 and charged me ****** for their storage of the car.

    We received a call on 2/05/2024 from the private property custodian from where this vehicle was towed from.  The custodian indicated that they had an abandoned vehicle parked on their property and requested to have it removed.  The vehicle was properly impounded,as it was posted with a 24-hour tag on it and had an authorized signer to have it removed from that property, which is required in the State of Washington. 


    A 24-Hour Vehicle Impound Notice was sent out on 2/06/2024, within 24 hours of us receiving the vehicle, to the address of the registered owner of the vehicle.  A second notice, Custody and Sale of Abandoned Vehicle Notice, was mailed out on 2/12/2024 to the same address indicating that we were set to auction off the vehicle, if not redeemed, on 3/07/2024.  A third notice, Notice of Lien, explaining our auction process and amount owed was mailed out on 3/22/2024.


    The balance owed after auction was $1429.42.  However, per RCW 46.55.140, a Registered Tow Truck Operator may charge $500.00 plus tax for the services of impoundment and storage after the deduction of the amount bid at auction.  The balance due because of this RCW was then reduced to $543.50.


    Please be advised that our company is a Registered Tow Truck Operator (RTTO) for the State of Washington. We follow all rules and laws set by the State of Washington regarding the laws of impoundment and we are inspected yearly by Washington State Patrol to ensure we follow these laws.
