On 5.17.2023 we took our 3 year old English Bulldog (*****) to a doggy daycare facility that he had been going to since he was a puppy. Over numerous visits we had continually reminded the doggy daycare provider that ***** was extremely vulnerable to the heat and would need to be closely monitored and kept indoors during hot days. On 5.17.2023, the doggy daycare owner did not supervise our dog and left him out in the 90 degree heat for an hour (at minimum). He later went to let ***** in and found him unresponsive on his deck. He threw cold water on him and took him to the *********************. He was dead upon arrival. The vet stated his temperature was well over 110 degrees and he was hot to the touch. The doggy day care owner continued to send my husband and myself text messages apologizing for killing our dog by his mistake to take care of *****. This was negligence. We have contacted an attorney who encouraged ** to contact either the BBB or Attorney General for assistance. The doggy daycare appears to have a business license (UBI: ************ but I would question the legality of how this business is being conducted as a result of the owner's negligence and overpopulation of dogs being cared for on a given day. We want to ensure no other animals are vulnerable to the lack of care he provided our baby. We also understand it is acceptable to request that we be reimbursed the cost of ***** and the vet expenses from 5.17.2023. This does not even begin to address the pain and distress we have been experiencing in the loss of our family member. ***** is considered personal property in the eyes of the law and we would be entitled to $2500 (which is what we paid for *****) and $242.37 for the 5.17.2023 vet expense. We are asking that the doggy daycare owner (*************************) pay ** $2,742.27 . We would also want to ensure that his business is held accountable for this horrific event of animal cruelty and despicable negligence.
